nearly all the people that have almost killed me have been B*&^*'s on cells phones in Suv's (sometimes mini vans) since I consider them somewhat my peers, I have ripped them a new one, and they are scary! I got chased by one once-barreling down on me to each light flippme me off and pretending she was going to hit me. Still that was my fast last time committing road rage. I find women the nastiest toward me on the scooter. They have the nerve to be mad at me when they are at fault-ie running a stop sign or what not. Jealous I supposeDennisD wrote:Women in SUVs with cell phones scare the bejesus out of me. Many are armed with attitude.
Men in SUVs with cell phones are quickly closing the gap dominated by women, but I don't think they can compete in attitude.

Similarly, we get the flat beds hauling huge steel coils in this area. And it's not all that uncommon to see those lying next to the road as well. Now that definitely catches my attention regardless of whether I have 2 or 4 wheels below me.dakotamouse wrote:Trucks hauling round haybales. Every once in a while you see a bale along side the road that has gotten loose. I don't want to be there when one hits the pavement!

Crazy people!
My worst fear when riding is crazy people in cars. Over the years I've seen way too many stupid drivers. Swerving drunks, jackasses on cell phones, and drivers who don't even look where they're going. I'm also kind of tired of bicycle riders who don't feel that they have to observe traffic signals or stop signs.

This'll sound odd, but I don't like new roads. They're too smooth--I want to ride on something with a little grit to it so I can feel the traction!
And Chuck Norris: I know The Man can kick me right off my scooter no matter how fast I go! (But, as an agent of truth and goodness, I know he wouldn't)!

While I fear the person with a cell to their ear while driving, I'm even more afraid of the idiots that text while driving (A scene which is all too common in the ATL.). I've been almost run off the road twice this year by folk who think writing and driving are a good combo.
Also hungry bears on motorcycles can be a little dangerous. The minute they smell human flesh they charge right after you.

Besides cagers and drunk jay-walkers its easy: noobies at ralleys! The last one I went too some other buddy almost side-swapped me twice. I finally got around them but they had come within a couple of inches of me. Earlier that day a vespa hit the back of my scooter
it was fine, but I wondered why so many people can't handle their scooters

PM me if want to ride around Denver

No, but nods are cooler. It is saying, yeah we're cool and we know.TVB wrote:Do you find their social advances threatening?pcbikedude wrote:Other 2 wheelers that have an incessant need to wave. I notice them more on the weekends.
Waves are just more annoying,
The scenery only changes for the lead scooterist.
