Sky Island Riders - El Scoot de Tucson

Yesterday, the Sky Island Riders, along with some Green Valley Scooter Club riders, took to the streets. We rode 115 miles around the perimeter of Tucson, tracing the route of the famous annual bicycle race, El Tour de Tucson. We had had about 25 scoots (and one Honda Shadow) of all shapes and sizes along with 3 sponsored rest/visiting stops along the way. We finished with a Kansas City BBQ, hosted by ...ME!. I think a great time was had by all. Some pics:

That is SO awesome! We didn't get any BBQ or have Harley for a sponsor yet two years ago (NOV-07) a coworker an myself got to ride the Tour de Tucson - went green the whole weekend with the League of American Cyclists and racked up 315 miles in three days. Loved hanging out in Tucson - would take a scooter there anytime!

I rode the bicycling version twice. Riding 8,000 other folks was such a rush! The river crossings were a lot of fun as well.

Hey, I remember when that Sky Island Riders patch was being designed and we we're all giving our 2¢ on it here at MB. That was a while ago but this is the first time I've seen the finished product! Came out really nice! Great job!
