How do I make the steering lock work? nothing i do on my buddy 50 seems to lock the steering.... i bought it slightly used and the previous owner didn't know either. Is the 50 not lock-able?
Thanks!
when the key is in the off position, turn the key and the handlebar to the left at the same time...at the same speed. you'll instantly know if you have done it right. once the steering is locked the key can be removed.
no i don't ride a scooter, i am a scooter pilot!

I don't know about a 50, but on my 125 you don't have to turn the handlebars with the key to lock the column. You do have to have the bars almost all the way to the left. It keeps me from straightening the bars when its locked.

Ditto on my 150 International. I always turn the handlebars to the left, then rotate the key to the left and remove. Works like a charm!

There seems to be a kind of a 'sweet spot' where it engages, sometimes a bit of a 'wiggle' of the handle bar helps it lock on mine.
The handlebars have to be positioned so that the left handgrip digs directly into your abdomen as you reach for the keys, before it will lock. If you can reach they keys comfortably from the left side, the handlebars are in the wrong position.

Gee, I've never locked mine while still on it. Maybe I'm missing a fun moment?
