My Buddy 150 is all of a sudden very slow

Post by sgall »

I just had the rear tire replaced and today was the first time I rode it since. I went 30 miles to work. It was riding unusually slow. I usually can go 55 or 60 or even a little faster and today I was full throttle and only going 50! It seemed very sluggish. Any suggestions

Addressing my question to the wise scooter wizards here:
can intermixing two different types of tires (sport, racing, winter, etc) affect performance or can this possibly be a result of faulty wheel re-attachment?

What type of tire do you have on the front and what type on the rear? I realize that it was the rear they replaced. Just in case, they may have checked and let to much air out of the front, have you checked the air pressure there too?

Check that the tire isn't rubbing if it's a different style of tire than the one that it replaced.

I haven't looked at a Buddy rear end in a while... there shouldn't be any clearance issues since it mounts to the CVT case. Did they perform any other services, like an oil change? Over filling the oil will cause the scoot to be sluggish.
