A posting below from another forum I belong to. I did the same thing ... had this program sitting on my DVR and just finished watching it. I highly recommend it.
I just watched a show that I had taped a few weeks ago called Crash Science. It was on the National geographic channel. They have several of these shows that deal with everything from plane crashes to auto crashes. But this one was about motorcycle crashes, specifically racing motorcycle crashes.
So your probably wondering what race bikes would have to do with street bikes. Let me tell you that I learned a lot about how, why and when crashes occur. They covered high side crashes, low side crashes, helmets and new technology that is making it down to the street level such as traction control and a host of other things.
If you get the chance, check your TV guide and watch this show. You will come away with a whole new understanding of the physics of cornering and riding your motorcycle.
Here is a link to the show. :

Did not see the program dont have cable tv... I tell people this and often,,, GET AWAY FROM THE BIKE,,, DON'T HANG ON!!! Iv had two major road crashes,,, and many many offroad misshaps... The bike does not feel pain,,, its heavy,,, it well hurt you... Iv even had a few time where iv stepped off the bike,,, hurt a little but not as bad as if i was to hangon and ride out the crash... One of the first things one well do is put out there hands to help them with the fall,,, good gloves are a must,,, im missing half my left hand for this simple fact,,, roadrash chewed it off i had on leather gloves also...
People say fullface helments are the best,,, maybe,,, last major road crash i had the helment (fullface Nolan) split in two,,, 15 teeth missing 12 bones broken in my face... That crash was in "83" im still digging out sand,,, small rocks,,, glass,,, and what ever else is on the road out my left buttcheck,,, knee,,, and left arm/hand...
I would if in the game of crashing on a bike again do these things,,, (try to anyway),,, turnloose the bike,,, relax,,, keep my limbs as close to the body as possable,,, i often think rolling is better than sliding,,, but with some of todays bodyarmor it just might be better to slide...
God help all of us all that get into this problem of a crash...

Do you remember how fast you were going and how the accident happened?
