weekend ended much better than it started!

Post by BeachBuzz »

After Hurricane/TS/Nor'easter Ida finally made her way past the midatlantic coast the sun reappeared and dried us out early Sunday morning. Glad for the sunny skys and unusually warm temps we deceided it was a great opportunity to get the scoots out of the garage for a battery charging, fluid flowing shakedown. We left the house around 11:30 with temps in the low 60s and hardly a cloud to be seen. We deceided to take the Genuine's out since the Buddy had been sitting for the better part of 2 weeks and, being my daily commuter, I rarely get the Blur out for a long ride in the country. We wound through the Brandywine Valley into southern Chester County PA (Rt100 - 926 - 896 for those familier with the area). Mrs' brother lives out that way so his house is a common destination or weigh point on our weekend rides. What an awesome day for a ride - seemed almost like a summer day with more M/C riders than cars on the road sadly we didnt see even one scooter on our trip. We made our loop past BILs house and back across Rt1 at 896 to head back home on Old Balimore Pike. A standard lunch stop at El Ranchero in Avondale (for great authentic mexican food) and some fun backroads on the way home. We logged around 70+ miles and were out for around 4 hours with the lunch stop. It was so nice when we got home we deceided to go back out on the 50's to give them the same battery/fluid treatment. Another hour in the saddle, much more local on the 50's, and we got home just in time to watch the Eagles get their azz's handed to them by the Chargers.

Oh well - it was a freakin awesome day for scootin  if I did this right, here's the map of our route.

Sounds like a great ride and a great day. Nice way to enjoy the calm after the storm! I'll bet there are some beautiful rides around there. Many moons ago I lived a ways north of you, near Valley Forge, PA. I always loved the roads through forests around there. And that was when I was in a cage! I'd love to get back there on two wheels...
