Now all you need to do is give Dr. Frankenstein a call, so you can replace the "parts" you lost on the side of the road (I imagine it's a little too late to go back and retreive the originals... they've either been eaten by possums, or run over by a semi).

Now were talkin'!!!!!! So far the weather has been mild. I wear a hooded sweatshirt under my leather jacket and flannel lined jeans. Good enough for 45 degree riding.

I like those over pants ... there better than wearing long johns since you can zip them babies right off...

I liked that about them too. And the zip-out liner is great. Between that and the vents they should be comfortable in a nice wide range of temperatures.

When I was riding the other day I was on an interview and so had dress pants on. That's partly why I froze so badly. Talk about no protection... not from the cold, not from a spill. I realized I would definitely need lined overpants to throw on over pants like that to be warm and safe, then easily zip them off to get back to looking business appropriate.

For anyone who likes the pants and wants to buy some, act fast as they are discontinued.

(Side Note: I have to give props to both motorcyclecloseouts.com and bikebandit.com. MC Closeouts who I've bought from before, shipped the item less than 2hrs after I ordered it... a record in my books... and Bike Bandit's customer support was fantastically helpful and gave me a 10% discount. Do you guys really ride in conditions like the picture (minus the shovel and sander, heh)?

I'm not concerned with the cold so much (just wear more- buddy controls are easy to use in heavy gloves) but really worried about ice and sand on the roads. I haven't ridden in 3 weeks because we have snow hanging around that thaws each day, melts into the road, and refreezes.

wow, you've already had snow for three weeks! I thought michigan was bad for weather. Here its just been cold in the mornings which isnt a big deal if ya layer right. We're not scheduled to get our 1st snow until this thursday and even then it won't stick. I'm hoping to be able to ride continuously until at least the 14th of dec so I can get through this semester and finish my grad degree. Its easy for me to catch the bus to work but the bus stops running before I get out of school in the evening

I sometimes ride my bicycle in semi-snowy conditions, as long as the streets are mostly clear and I can avoid any slippery spots with a little care. But my Buddy is going to get parked as soon as we get any accumulation: too much mass and too much speed to risk on the slippery stuff.

TVB that is basically what I do. I have studded tires for two of my bikes so I ride my bicycles all year round but I'm a bit nervous about riding the buddy once the threat of black ice becomes a serious problem. I'm also a bit worried about salt eating the crap out of my scoot

Our winters are actually a lot milder than Michigan's and the rest of the midwest (I was born in Traverse City) but we get nasty storms both early and late when the upper air is still warm enough to carry the moisture over the Rockies.

We got a foot of snow about a week before Halloween, which is a little late for a first snow. We normally get our nastiest blizzards in March and April.

The good news is that it burns off QUICK, and normally temps are above freezing for most of the winter during the day- lots of sun.

I'm just afraid to ride once the roads are sanded. I dumped my Buddy on sand last year and got a nasty concussion.

Yep. I'm in Manitou Springs, just west of Colorado Springs (we share a "border").

We're more-or-less in a high desert area, (think cactus). It is dry here most of the time.

But I've expericed a foot of snow here in early June, though not in recent years. In '77 or '78, can't remember which, we had a foot plus of snow on my birthday in mid-May. But like Anachronism says, it usually melts off pretty quickly.

So, I ride all year as long as the roads are free of snow and ice.. Yes, you have to watch out for the sand and chemicals they dump on the roads to melt the ice. But you also have to watch for wet leaves in the Fall and those paint stripes and pot holes in the road all year long.

I rode this morning, 22F when I left the house.

You just have to have the right gear like jasondavis48108 says. And you have to exercise extra caution.

I don't ride year round because the frequency of snow and very cold conditions results in roads that always have icy patches. I have ridden in the high 20's this year, that's cold enough for me. I was out today and snapped this picture. Funny, it didn't really feel that cold to me. Yes, this is a real, undoctored photo. Brrrr. I wasn't even wearing my longies.

As long as the roads are dry I'm going to try to get out on my scooter every month of the year. In North Dakota the odds of that happening.......frankly.....aren't very good. But here it is nearly the end of November and I haven't put the scoot away yet!

Last year, by this time, we were already on our 3 snowstorm.

Anachronism: I don't ride in the winter because of Black Ice, Regular Ice, and worst of all road salt. I don't want my Buddy to rust or corrode away. I do ride until we get snow though and this year is the longest I have ever ridden.

sounds like you Colorodians have fairly good weather then and fairly good snow removal too I'm jealous, here in Michigan we get frequent snow and they don't even think about plowing the streets unless you get a good four inches and even then the side street don't get plowed for weeks

Pants arrived today. Really, really nice and very well made. And man are they toasty! Broke out in a sweat wearing them in my apartment while I was positioning the knee armor. I can't imagine needing to install the liner too often in these parts.

Took a ride in my new gear to the Int' MC Show this weekend. Rode down the coast and was cold and grey... my winter gear was my new best friend. First time I'd ever worn MC pants. I didn't even have the lining in either the jacket or pants and I was oh so nice and toasty the whole way there and back. Just the way I like it.

Best $ I've spent in a while.
