[SSR] jet scooter

I saw this craft last weekend parked outside the hotdog joint down the street from my house. Underneath the fuselage there's a cockpit with steering wheel and accelerator/brake pedals, but it's a two-wheeler, albeit with little wheels under the wings for balance.

That looks so much warmer than my current bike!

A little Googling reveals that this is a 1980s "autocycle" called the Pulse, less than 400 of which were made by Owosso Motor Car Co. of Owosso, Michigan. With a 1200cc engine, it's claimed to get 55mpg. Since only three wheels touch the ground at a time, it's licensed as a motorcycle.

Man I would LOVE to have one of those. Like owning a plane... but less expensive :) I wonder what safety features are built into it?

That I don't know... but that vehicle looks like it was made from a leftover BD-5 kit, turned from airplane to bike. Me? I want a Monotracer! (Unlike the Pulse, its outriggers fold out of the way...)

Oh, dug up this stuff about the Pulse:

Considering the vintage, I'd guess... brakes.
