It really depends on the price. I think it looks nice but until I saw some specs and an msrp I can't say much about it other than I'd by a scale replica to put on my shelf

What I really want to see is the mythical retro scooter that Genuine was talking about actually get produced this spring. I've been looking at scooters and motorbikes in the 250-350 range and the only thing I really like so far is the suzuki TU 250. The Vespa GTS 250 and 300 are beautiful as well but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend $7000 on a vehicle that I can only ride 9 months out of the year. I also looked at the burgman but I'm not old enough to ride around on a lazy boy just yet

It's sad that people keep trying to remake old designs. I love Lambrettas, but the brand died a long time ago. Nothing about a "new" Lambretta will appeal to any of the existing old Lambretta fans. I may try to look like one and carry the name but the similarities stop there. You'd probably be better off getting one of the GP200 re-pops from India.

I actually REALLY like the Scomadi with the fiberglass body, it is almost a carbon copy of the old Lammys.

I hate the front but the back is a decent interpretation with a modern twist. I'm thinking some of these scooter companies should start asking the people who actually buy and ride scooters to vote on designs before they jump into production. I understand they want to surprise and wow everyone with something they've never seen before, but at least they could let us say what's good & what's bad. who's with me eh?

IMHO, Its fair to say that if you put this new Lammy next to an SX200 (for example) there really isn't any comparison. However I think the same would be true if you put even Vespa's new power house 300cc (yeah yeah 278) behemoth next to an old GS. Its a modern interpretation of a classic design, so it just won't be the same, but I don't think that means it shouldn't exist. Having said that I think this is a pretty solid interpretation of those classic lines, without simply repeating the original design.

To me the real question will be, how does it perform. If I buy another scooter the next one will be a classic something, BUT had this uber-mod Lambretta been on the market when I bought my Buddy, and was in my price range, it would have been a definite contender.
