Passed my road test today!

Post by NJSurfergirl »

I passed my road test today! I was so nervous, even though i had practiced 5 times in the parking lot at the beach, using tape on the road for "cones". i guess i should have passed having already put close to 300 miles on it. Now i plan on riding my Buddy to Christmas dinner at my parents' house---hooray!

thats great :) the road test was totally nerve racking for me, especially so since it had been many years since I had touched a motorcycle and riding my scooter for a year made it even harder to get used to the clutch and the fact that when you squeeze the left "brake lever" you don't brake  It sounds like you were totally ready though, and riding to xmas dinner! doesn't Jersey get snow? Your braver than me :)

Congratulations on a job well done! Feels great doesn't it? I remember how fantastic I felt after passing mine. Like I'd looked fear straight in the eye and come away the winner.

If you're interested, a great follow up to passing the test and taking the MSF course etc, is reading the book Proficient Motorcycling. A must for every riders library. Maybe Santa will bring you a copy :)

Congrats !!! I am still practising for my test. That is is I was practicing until weather has gotten just a bit too cold and I had to stop.
I was hoping it would not get cold just yet but with 20 miles only under my belt I think I am looking at spring test. It seems so far away!! Enjoy riding.

I'll also pass along my congrats. And even with 300 miles experience, the riding test isn't necessarily a slam dunk. My wife took the MSF course last summer and said there were two people in her class that didn't pass the riding exam. One of those was a guy that had his permit for 2 years and had over 8000 miles on his bike.

Thanks everyone! it was nerve racking for me, i had heard that the weaving through cones would be difficult, so i practiced. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted.
