Can't get my CVT cover off- Buddy 50
I'm trying to derestrict my buddy 50 as shown in the Genuine video (viewtopic.php?t=11300&highlight=dealer+video), but I can't get the CVT cover off. I removed 8 screws, are there more I don't see? I also removed the kick start swing arm. Any ideas?

I cant be sure of the bolt count difference of the 125/150 and the 50cc models, but if you truley are sure you got all the bolts out, a small hit with the palm of your hand downward will get it off. Have your opposite hand ready to catch the cover incase it falls. You dont want to scratch it. Nothing mechanically can be messed up if it hits the ground, but for looks it can be damaged.

some covers have a bolt that hides in the center of the cover,,, its down deep in a hole just behind the kickstarter,,, make sure thats ones out... dont know if the buddy has this one bolt that hides,,, but the rattler does...

OK all you mallet users, listen up! Please be more specific when telling someone who's doing this for the first time that it's a rubber mallet so they don't end up damaging their case. Non-marring would of course be ideal, but something as simple as a tent stake mallet (big black rubber thing) would be the cheapest.

Usually, it may just require a couple light taps. Since I am mallet-less, I will sometimes fold a shop towel over a few times and use that to pad a small hammer. If it requires more force, I have to get creative.

Place a towl or some shop rags on the case before you hit it with a mallet or your hand. This will help prevent scuffing the case and will soften the blow of your hand. Works for me everytime.
