Hey pimaCanyon
Yes, our search function can be a bit hard to manage. There's a lot of great info in those links above. Also, informal helmet reviews tend to pop up frequently so just thumb through the last few weeks of thread topics and you'll likely find more.
Another great source of helmet info that a lot of us trust is the WebBikeWorld.com review section. They do extremely thorough reviews covering everything from (obviously) safety to comfort, wind noise, etc.
As for my helmet, I've only had two models in my life but I'm a fan of Scorpion EXO series helmets. I have an EXO-400 that I purchased at SportBikeTrackGear.com for $100 and they now have certain colors for as low as $70. It gets great reviews at WebBikeWorld. The EXO-700 and EXO-1000 are even a bit better. The 400 is very comfortable; it has the feel of a very expensive helmet. I'm not sure it's the PERFECT shape for my head, but it's very close. Head shape is an important factor in helmet choice (something covered in the reviews I linked above) and can be one of the hardest things to get right.
I'm sure most of this info and more is in the FAQ that LMC linked above, so definitely give that a read and good luck with your choice!

thanks, bigbropgo, for the links. Yeah, the trouble I found with the search is that it returns a zillion threads. So after looking at a few I go lazy and made a post. I appreciate the links--I will read thru all of them later today or over the weekend.
And thanks to the others who replied.
I have a Nolan N43 Trilogy that I'm pretty sure I'm returning. I just ordered a GMax Gm68. It's inexpensive (half the cost of the Nolan), but the main reason I ordered it is the review on webbikeworld give it an "outstanding" for ventilation which is something I will need most of the year here in southeastern Arizona.
I have worn the Nolan around the house (but not on the bike), it seems to fit okay, but I'm concerned about the flexibility of the chin guard, the closeness of the chin guard to my chin, the lack of face shield partial opening positions, and the ventilation.
