Give me mod advice

Post by KCScooterDude »

I'm taking a motorcycle repair class at the our local juco starting in a few weeks. I'm mostly going to work on my Suzuki as a project bike during the class, but I'll have some opportunity to fool around with the Blur while I'm there. I will have the benefit of having somebody around with tons of experience to keep me from getting in trouble and maybe going above and beyond what most people are comfortable doing around their garage. Any suggestions on which mods to do? My Blur is bone stock right now but the warranty just ran out

If you have a machine shop handy in your class, port and polish your head, and maybe mill it too. If you wanna go real crazy, order a new piston from Akunar and bore out your casing.

Ohh, :+!: Thats a good call as well. Also, gasket match and blend the intake and exhaust ports.

I think I will have access to all that. Wow, I'm nervous about welding! What about weights, jetting, pipes, etc. How easy is it it adapt a pipe for another bike that's not Blur specific?

If you're good at welding, not hard at all. I went the Prima route, though.

The other stuff is cake compared to boring and stroking it.

Yeah, its super easy if you can weld. Just be sure to use the same type of metal for your joints!
