How do you remove a spark plug?

Post by nodar »

I know this will sound pretty ridiculous but how do you remove the spark plug on a buddy 125?

First where is it? I understand it's under the black rubbery cover right next to the carburetor. Am I right?

Then how do you remove the plug? Do you have to remove the small screw right next to it? This screw is deeply put between metal parts, making it hard for me to remove it.
I want to make sure I am aiming at the correct thing!!

Please consider that I am a 1st grader, the more detailed the explanation the better!!

Thanks for your help,
Nodar.

First remove the front panel where your feet go. Theres 3 screws at the bottom under the rubber mat, and one at the top. Then you can get to the sparkplug boot. Just pull on the boot and it will come off to reveal the plug. You then need a deep socket, or a sparkplug wrench. Place it over the plug and turn it like a bolt to remove it.

The screw you mentioned has nothing to do with the sparkplug.

the buddy tool kit comes with the thing you need to remove. You stick the screwdriver through the holes across the top for turning leverage. It's easily peasey but I don't know if there's anything special you have to worry about.

Ohh, I forgot about that. It does indeed come with a sparkplug tool. Nothing special to worry about.

Just be careful and don't do something boneheaded and overtighten the spark plug, mine was making the rounds at various shops and it was discovered that it has a cracked head that will need to be replaced at some point.

The only thing we can think of that would have cause that was some fool cranking the hell out of the spark plug.

Hand tight is perfectly fine.
