BUDDY WON'T START!

Post by EAG19 »

I replaced my battery recently and everything has been fine. I stopped using my buddy for about 3 weeks while I waited for a new seat and grips. Now, I try to turn on my buddy and it won'r start. The battery is ok because when I turn the key on, the horn works, the headlight works, and the blinkers work. I tried kick starting it but nothing. My gas is low but when I open the gas tank there's definitely gas in there. What do I do????

do you have a battery tender? If it is not making any noise at all when you are trying to start it, than I would say you have lot enough charge to not start the bike. I have found that I can't always kick start the buddy.

Good luck

When you try to use the electric start, does your headlight dim, or is there no change? And when you try to start, does it turn over at all, or doesn't it respond to you pushing the button in any way?

I feel dumb saying this, but I should check the kill switch since I was removing and replacing grips. I may have switched it off by mistake. However, I'll check about the headlight when I get home. When I kick start it, it does turn but it doesn't start at all.

i was just going to suggest that, but you beat me to it!

hopefully it's something simple like that... you may feel silly at the end of the day, but at least you'll be on the buddy :)

Don't forget to sqeeze the brake, too. That's an easy one to forget if you haven't been riding for a while.

Good luck.

Oh the shame! It was the killswitch all along. I never touch it but looks like my grip work caused me to push it off by accident. OOPS!

Thanks for all the help anyway, guys! :D
