Slumming it in the burbs...

Post by SI Kitty »

I took my first long ride since getting my new buddy. My friend and I first rode south to Cranbrook Institute Museum/Science center.

Fountian at Cranbrook's Art Museum entrance.

We then rode north to Meadowbrook Hall an 88,000 square foot mansion.
We were surprised on how close we were able get to the mansion for pictures.

Entrance to mansion.

My scooter in front of the courtyard.

My friend's scooter in front of the garage.

We had a blast, the weather was perfect, we saw a deer grazing on the side of the road to Meadowbrook it was magnificent!

There are more pics on my friend's iweb site.

Thanks! It was fun I was less confident on the ride to Cranbrook but felt quite confindent riding to Meadowbrook.

Yes that is a cuppini short windscreen. I don't think I'd like a tall screen, they kinda scare me.

That looks like a lot of fun!

I love your pictures.
And your windshield.

If I can get my loan to go through, maybe I'll invest in something like that.. I think I might need a windshield or something on it to use for my motorcycle license test anyways...?

I dunno.. just something I read. I may have misread, though, or just messed it up in my head. I've been pretty frazzled lately.. just moved a thousand miles from home a week ago >_<

I know the jacket was bought to match my Red and White Honda Metropolitan...

And to make matters worse I'm wearing a blue icon helmet that was too large for my color coordinating Vespa riding friend

I don't know if you're taking the MSF course for your license, or just taking a riding test thru your DMV. I took the MSF course on my scoot, without any windshield (at that time). No problem. May be different rules where you are?

Good luck getting settled in. Moving really can be stressful.

so what is your opinion of the cuppini windscreen? I have ordered one from scooterworks but it still has not arrived.....do you have any wind noise or handling problems? Performance increase or decrease?

I like it alot, I had it installed at the dealer so I really can't comment on performance increase/decrease.

My friend added hers after having her scooter a while and has noticed a decrease in wind noise and believes to have added a couple MPHs to her speed.

Thanks for sharing, I did notice that the wsbud3 cuppini short windscreen on scooterworks website looks a bit different than your windscreen though, the one on scooterworks site looks much taller and not as close to the headlamp near the bottom, I guess I will find out if the thing ever shows up in the mail, I ordered it weeks ago and it shows in stock on the website? of couse they still show my cowl protectors as have not been shipped yet! and I got those about a week ago.....room for improvement for scooterworks in that department... here is the wsbud3 from cuppini for the 2007 buddy

THose photo's are inspirational!

Though my wife really likes the buddy italia, I think she fell in love with a powder blue LX50 at the dealership I got my Vespa. She's a UCLA Bruins fan and I know she's looking for "cute riding gear".

I'm hoping she'll want to get a scooter.

I drove by the Dealership that carries the Buddy's now in Sacramento. They were closed at 2pm on a Sunday?! WTF, wanted to give em a spin again.

Capitol Yamaha www.capitolyamaha.com though they still don't feature the Buddy

:D EDIT, just checked and they FINALLY changed their site to reflect the Buddy's!!! As of Sunday when I was last online checking their site they hadn't. :P they have a posted picture of a black buddy instead of the Italia for the Italia model! HA!!!

I was in contact with Genuine people. Trey emailed me right after the ink had been signed!

I called the store and the sales guy didn't know what the F I was talking about! HA!!!

Most motorcycle stores are not open on Sunday. Those that are, it is usually in the summer.
