Dobby is finaly free

Post by Stormswift »

Had my cousins come over tonight and help me roll my scooter out of basement and into the light. I really prepared for the big event. Thought it was going to be a major problem. I got a little ramp and out the door Dobby went. It started beautifully and we led it along the back of the town homes to the same incline we used to get it down to my basement in November. My cousin told me to just crank up the throttle a little and walk it up. I had my doubts. but it worked. Dobby took the grassy incline like a champ. We then parked it right next to the front steps. I hired someone to pull some dead bushes and put concrete slabs in their place so that Dobby can be parked there. They also installed an anchor this morning . So I chained Dobby with the Kryptonite chain , got the alarm on and we are all set. Tomorrow we ride and practice. Next week is the riding test
I am going to garden center tomorrow to get some new bushes so that I can plant them to camuflage Dobby and its new parking spot. No need to agitate homeowners assosiation. What they can't see won't bother them. I'll post pictures once it is all done.

Dobby is finally free

You might think of getting a cover as well, if you don't have one yet. Not only would it protect Dobby from the elements, but would make one more layer that a would-be thief would have to go through to get him. I don't have one myself (always in our garage), but I've heard other members with covers point that out. :)

I agree with the cover suggestion. It eliminates the "ooh, shiny scooter, I must touch it" temptation.

I also run a chord from my cover to my Xena disc lock so that if anyone messes with my cover it sets the alarm off. Hopefully that would send any would be thief running before they even got the cover off.

I am still riding around the development until I get M class. No one here to ride with. Harbor is enticing but I'd be lucky to sneak out to the side streets for practice. Local police for some reason has a liking for my area. All I see is them, speed cameras and more of them. I dont look good in orange :x

Ingenious!
One question, though. Does wind blowing the cover ever set off the alarm?
