RH from a 50 to a 110?

I was looking at Scootertunner on you tube and he swapped in a rat 110 in a buddy 50. I would assume this is a easy upgrade for the RH guys with the 50?

I am getting brand new scooters and I am looking down the road if I want to give them a big boost. is it better to just swap in the 110 or is it cheaper to do a jug swap?

To me Genuine has done all the work its just a matter of the cost. I dont understand why there is a RH in the 50 and nothing bigger but the rat comes in at the 50 and goes up from there.

Is there anyone with any insight on this.

You could in theory swap the buck10 engine into the RH the same as the Buddy 50. You cannot just swap a jug to get the 110cc engine, since the 50cc and 110cc engine are different models of Minarelli motors.

If you don't already own a RH and are already thinking of upgrading, why not just buy the Rat to begin with? It'd certainly be easier

The rat 50 is the roughhouse. Most body panels and the seat can be swapped out. The headlight and speedo setup are different. The pmx 110 has the speedo and headlight of the new 50's. (Go figure) I would imagine anything would be interchangeable with time and money, but what a pain in the butt.

without any cas work about the biggest you can get is 70cc with just a cyl swap
if you rework the shit out of the case and get a crank you can get to 90+ but its going to cost you more then a 110 will

there are a few guys with the zumas that have swapped in the bws 100 into there scoot with great results so if you happen upon a wrecked 110 snap it up for a swap other wise just get a 110

I was just thinking out loud. There are a few reasons why I was thinking this. One if and when I get ready My RH is titled as a 50. I doubt that a cop is going to Check the exact CC of the motor but with the 50 I dont have to go thru all the motorcycle stuff also there is the insurance issues here.. I also do alot of camping and that is the primary reason for the scooter. Some places dont alow bigger bikes so a 50 can sneek thru.

I know just a de-restriction is about all I would NEED but I race cars so More power is always a fun thing.

I was just looking at the scooterworks website and saw the complete motor and trans kit and the prices seemed very cheep. That is why I asked.

Personally I would destrict the 50, go for a Prima pipe (it works well with a 50), open the airbox a bit, jet the carb maybe shim the needle, tune the variator (Dr. P sliders of the proper weight, polished variator ramp tracks), & when the warranty runs out slap on a BBK, retune accordingly & call it good.

i wouldnt wast my time with the prima pipe scooter works is the only place that offers perfomance parts for rought house and rattlers in the states but there are over 100 diffrent pipes for the hm engine just look up pgo scooters on parts sources outside the us or look up zuma parts the cyl head and pipes will work
yes you will need to adjust the brackets to fit your need but that is the way it is for many aftermarket parts

That may be, however a noob needs to know what happens to the factory warranty if a "performance" pipe - other than the Prima - is installed by anyone other than an authorized Genuine dealer on a scoot under warranty to the original owner. Presuming that Spawn bought new, that might be important. Or not.

That's a good point. It might be annoying to wait but the warranty can be your best friend. After its up, tear into it.

Incorrect! In Scooterworks most recent flyer they listed the prima pipe and under it said that it would void the warranty, HOWEVER that aside there is really no way of knotwing which pipe you had on it before it broke down (in that rare occasion).

70cc is plenty fast, for being registered as a 50cc and no endorsement. I ride everywhere in the 904 on my modded rh at 50+ mph with no problems from JSO or CCSO. Its hard to get caught even if you ride with no endorsement as long as you obey all past present and future traffic laws

I saw this on there site. I have to get with my dealer but yes I got new. Just running around the track this weekend I put 24 miles on it. I will bring it back in just like it requires at the 200 mile time and then have the dealer or get the gasket for the exhaust and remove the spacer and go with that for a little while. It worked just like I wanted all weekend as a pit bike. Now when I get to the trails camping will be another test but hauling me and the wife was no problem for the Roughy!
