Gear lube for Rough House

Post by pjlgrnone »

I want to change the gear lube on Rough House 50 for the first time , 500 miles on the clock. What is the weight to use? Also is the amount only 90 cc's ? and finally is Synthenic OK ?

Synthetic is fine. They sell 90cc tubes of lube too, makes it easy to know you're not over filling it.

I suggest that you not overfill the gearbox; trust the factory spec. If you overfill your gearbox it WILL leak when underway & fling oil all over your back tire & wheel. Don't ask me how I know this... :P

Get a flavor injector from the grocery store. It looks like a big syringe. It'll allow you to measure out exactly 90ml/90cc of oil, and the injector tip will allow you to get it into the case without a funnel.
