real world 50cc speeds ?

Post by jallen013 »

with the 50cc buddys about to come out i'm wondering what "real world" top speeds can actually be obtained out of a 50cc scoot...
stock?
derestricted?
derestricted w/ preformance pipe?

TIA.

My Max Speed

Post by Dan Buddy »

On the flats I have had mine up to 51 according to the speedo, I think it reads a little faster than you are actually going. My buddy has stock exhaust and a tall windshield. I am pretty happy with that considering I go about 250lbs.

51? Cool - I am a little bit (not much) lighter and can get mine up to 45 on the speedo in the flats - I am guessing closer to 40 in reality. No windshield though, and that may make a difference - Has anybody tested out top speeds with and without windshield on the 50?

This morning I got my scoot up to 45 (on the speedo mind you) and then tucked down and got another 3 to 4 mpy out of it! Very cool. Thanks for posting Dan. Now I need a windshield....
