Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Post by potamus »

My Buddy has finally arrived! I picked her up today and just couldn't stop smiling!!! Filled up for $3.75 and cruised the neighborhoods getting a feel for her. She even inspired me to clean the garage! :D If I can figure out how to make my pics smaller, I will post one!!!

That was you picking up your Buddy when I stopped by Tulsa Scooters, right? Congratulations! The white mesh armored jacket was an excellent idea, too!

Now all you have to do is get your brother Byron started on scootering. He seemed plenty interested, even asking Justin about financing.

Have fun!

Yes, that is my scooter.
Yes, I wear a helmet and a FIRSTGEAR armored jacket.
No, I'm not embarrassed to be seen riding it.
Yes, that is an NRA sticker on the fender.

Mirror problem

Post by potamus »

Yes, Kent that was me! I love the Buddy! My brother is definately wanting one and checking the finances! Mine looks like the one pictured below in the replys, minus the front rack add a windshield! I am having a problem with the mirrors. They are coming loose and swinging around when I ride! I have tried tightening the bolt, which doesn't seem to do anything, and removing the windshield to add a washer, which helped some but didn't solve the problem completely. Any ideas?

Mirrors Loose

Post by crashtestdummy »

I do not have the windshield, but my right mirror came loose the other day. I did notice it was reverse threaded. Once I figured that out, a cresent wrench solved the problem.

Thanks for the info! I took it up to the dealer and they fixed it - the nut was off its threading so that's why I couldn't get it to move at all! Now I am scootin' again!!!

This happened to me today, I couldn't figure out why it wasn't tightening. I actually had to go out and buy a wrench but it fixed it quickly.

It was actually kind of cool to be able to fix something, even as minor as it was, on my own. I'm not normally very good with mechanical things.

If you don't use Locktite Threadlocker Blue on the threads, the mirrors will eventually vibrate lose. I carry wrenches in the pet carrier so I can tighten them up as needed. Gotta get some Locktite.

Glad you're enjoying your Buddy Italia!

He came by my desk yesterday after hearing about my latest mishap (stupid cager!) and told me he was ordering a Sunset Orange one. If you two park next to each other, it'll look like a fruit salad!

I don't understand. :? What does rain have to do with riding? I drove my car to work once in the last two weeks. Road Toads by Frogg Toggs keep me dry.

I don't have any rain gear right now, so I'm not riding in the crazy rainstorms. I may pick some up later.....for now, I am waiting for the sun!
