Ride to Work Day, wish I could! Let's show some Scooter Solidarity!
Heres the official web site http://www.ridetowork.org/
Check out the Everyday Rides section...there are a LOT of scoots posted there. There's also a section of interesting facts on daily commuting.

Me too.
Today I also took a great ride along Route 50 and Eden Park with Scooter Dave at lunch time. Way better than eating at my desk and working through lunch.
I cannot remember the last time I drove the car! This weekend I going with family to Niagara falls which will be awesome, but I will get that mind drift I always do when I travel...mmmm. how great would this be on the Buddy...?

Dude! That's a big step. That mean you are now a 1 car 2 scooter household now?
In practice, we've been a one car, 2 scoot household for quite a while. Other than to move my car on street cleaning days and a couple rainy days, I've driven it maybe a couple times in the past several months, and that was just for the sake of driving it. But it's just been sitting, depreciating and collecting dirt, the battery draining monthly.
Ironically, I had been considering buying a new car for the first time in my life. But it makes no sense to let a new car sit on the street. If I get a job that requires a highway commute or isn't convenient or accessible via LA's lousy mass transit system, I may take the plunge and get another car. For now, it's all scoot—even if we have some serious rain, I can ride a short distance to a coworkers' place and carpool.

Kind of ironic: July 18 is my birthday. I'll be on vacation. We're flying to Seattle on July 14. Maybe I can rent one and tool around a bit. Other than that, I ride my scooter to work every day. My wife's been running errands in my PT Cruiser, and her Oldsmobile is slowly rotting away (nearly 150,000 hard miles on it).
Oh, well.

Yes, that is my scooter.
Yes, I wear a helmet and a FIRSTGEAR armored jacket.
No, I'm not embarrassed to be seen riding it.
Yes, that is an NRA sticker on the fender.
I'll be riding. It's going to be an hour and a half getting there because my schedule changed in the last week to require me to go to one of our farther locations for the morning. I'll just have to get an earlier start.
