Need key blanks for Buddy International 150

My new scoot only came with 1 key at delivery - the shop must have misplaced the other during prep. Does anyone have a confirmed source of PGO key blanks that fit the '09 Buddy 150? I checked scooterworks and did not find them, nor did they respond to my emails.

I've also found references here in the forum to both the ILCO X139/V35 and the X151/TR39 blanks, so if anyone knows for sure that one or the other work in an '09, that would help, too.

Is there a Red tag with the one key? That number needs to be sent to genuine for a replacement. You cant just have a key made

First off, no, no red tag, just a 'shop' tag with the yr,make, model, etc.

But I've never had problems getting car keys made _from an original_ at my hardware store - I just need a usable blank, either the plastic-headed PGO originals or an equivalent ILCO or such. So I'm looking for either a place to get the PGO blanks or confirmation that an ILCO blank works.

Anna no longer works there. Brendan, however, was able to set me up with a couple of blanks. $7/ea, and hopefully will ship out today (assuming Chicago digs out!).

Yeah, I've got them looking for it. In the meantime, my blanks are on the way and I'll have my local Ace Hardware clone me the spares.

I've never owned a new vehicle, so I've never had a factory key-ID number

I've always relied on the key-cutters at the hardware store.

As I expected, by the way, the big stores (Lowes, Home Depot) won't even touch a key job unless it matches one of their automated-cutter key profiles. They don't have people to do the traditional manual cuts anymore.

I just got a call from the shop - they found the missing key, and with a little luck it should have the numbered tag with it.

It would be funny (in a bad sort of way) if they were _all_ a 'xxxx' key pattern.

But anyway, I've got two blanks in the mail, so I'll have 4 keys when all is said and done.

Oh are those numbers unique to making duplicate keys? Oops, maybe I shouldn't have posted it. I thought it was a generic key blank size or something.

MB member Oli called me a bit panicky this summer, had locked his key in the pet carrier and his second key had been destroyed.

Got the key out and drove to an expert locksmith here in OKC, 50+ years in business.. Had hell figuring out a blank that would work, spent about half an hour there, finally made him a perfectly working key out of one of the Harley blanks. Some creative cutting to get the push to open stuff working but works great..

Now he claims thats why his scoot is slightly faster than mine.

Good thing there wasn't a pet in there... or something limportant like a six pack of your fav beverage!

I did this on a sales call - and had to hang out and wait until my daughter brought my spare from the house - good thing it was nice weather and only about 18 miles from home! She got a $20 tip for that one NOT to tell her mom!

I'm not going to post it on here, but theres a way to get into the PC without the key. Ask your mechanic or Genuine dealer to show you how, it's not difficult.

Got my PGO-logo blanks from ScooterWorks in the mail today. The length and guide-ridges (?) look right. Now it's on to the hardware store for a little grinder action.

You can never have too many keys. Maybe I'll stuff a spare in my helmet padding

Future newsflash: St Louis scooterist PeteH was found seriously injured following an accident this morning. He sustained only minor scrapes and bruises from the fall, but somehow a scooter key was driven into his skull when he his helmeted head struck the pavement. Neurosurgeons are debating whether to leave the key in place or undertake the risky surgery to remove it....

Got a pic of the key those guys made.. It works great. You can see how they had to cut it to make the push stuff work. But it's tight. A Harley key, how funny.
