You can get black reflective stripes. I ordered my reflective checkered stripes from a place called Harris Decals. Like a lot of the competitors, their web site is pretty lame. I just sent in a request telling them exactly what I wanted and in what size and the worked it up for me, no problem.
For straight-up stripes, you can buy reflective vinyl tape in various widths. Auto parts and boating stores usually carry it; I've seen it go pretty cheap on eBay, too.

Sure! I picked this stripe, though the have other widths available (may be a little chunky for the Buddy). I then selected "Reflective White" for the main color and "no color" for second and third colors. ("Reflective Black" is an option, too.)lobsterman wrote:Ericalm,
Can you forward us exactly what you asked them for, since it doesn't appear on their site?
I've been wanting to do something like that too. I want to put reflective black checkers on the back underneath the grab bar.
Then I wrote the following in special instructions:
I got 2 at a mere $6 each!I'd like the decal to appear as if there are only white checks over the bike's color. So, alternating reflective white checks with no color/empty in between.
Application was a little tricky because once you peel off the backing, there's nothing connecting the squares. The method I used was to wet the surface with a spray of water that had a drop of dishwashing liquid in it. Then I squeegeed the vinyl down and popped/smoothed any air bubbles. I used too much water on one side so had to place a few squares manually, but it worked out great in the end.

Thanks for the info re: Harris Decals. I'm kind of klutzy about applying stick-on stuff, but will seriously consider their stripes.
