I've had cop waves on the freeway too, even though I shouldn't be on there. I still hate that chinese scooters are allowed on there merely for being 150cc yet so slow.
We actually have cops on scooters in downtown Nashville and I've yet to get so much as a nod from them, let alone a wave.
Ask the scoot cops if they know Kenny Powers. My cousin in law who just transferred from the Lebannon, TN PD. He's like Mr. SWAT Tough Guy On The Street but I know better.

Interesting when you know someobody like that, isn't it? My twin brother is a former Navy SEAL. I've come to the conclusion that all those special forces types are just regualr guys for the most part who are either missing the internal voice that normal people have that says "I should stop now, so I will stop", or they have found a way to short circuit that impluse and continue on anyway. My brother and I are 44 now, he still does hundreds of pushups and situps every morning. I struggle to get my carcass to the fitness center 3-4 times a week.

He waved back.
Issue here. This was posted on Thursday. We had lunch today with STEMER. You told me that you did not scoot today. Either you lied to me at lunch or this never happened.

2. I did not ride today (Thursday), I rode yesterday (Wednesday). When I wrote the original post (see point 1) the "today" I mentioned was in fact the truth at the time, but now (while I am writing this post) that moment in time was yesterday. Tomorrow today will be yesterday and yesterday will be the day before yesterday. That's how this whole yesterday/today/tomorrow thing works. I'm sure you can look it up in wikipedia or something for a better explanation.
3. We did eat lunch (me, SteMer, and ScooterDave) together today, meaning Thursday, but did not ride. I do not have my scooter with me today because I accepted my wife's offer to ride in the airconditioned car.

What do ya mean, funny? Let me understand this cause, I don't know maybe it's me, but I'm funny how? I mean, funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh... I'm here to amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?
According to what I see, it is dated today NOT yesterday.
I do not pay attention to the time stamp as that is not accurate but the date is.
Sure cops wave, had two cars and a harley wave as they drove past me.
While I was parked in the middle of the street after calling 911 for my "hit and skip" incident. They didn't stop and no cop ever showed, got to love the cops in downtown Cleveland.
mybuddy wrote:Wait, you guys rode at lunch today? I missed out again!
No, we didn't ride (although I rode down to meet them for lunch).
But ScooterDave did eat a fried twinkie. Seriously.
Jury is still deciding if Lobsterman lied to us about when he rode 60 miles.
And I didn't wave at any cops today.

Hey Dave,
What is your time zone set to? If is is set to default i.e. GMT, than I guess that your time would be about 5 hours off. Subtract five hours from the time of the post as it is showing on your computer and... Voila, it would be 10:56pm on the previous evening(Aug 22).Unless Lobsterman always does his posts a 4 am. I do not know.
Just a Suggestion
If you are gonna do it, make darn sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

Something is off.. I'm on the US east coast and I should be set to GMT -5, but for some reason, in order for the time on phpBB forums to be set right I had to change it to GMT -4.
Now that you mentioned it, it was nearly 2 months ago my wife and I were both on scooters riding across town for a leisure ride and we came a across a gaggle of rookie motorcycle cops at a large intersection, they were stopped at a light as we rode thru there were at least 10 newbie’s, and at least 2 full uniforms, which must be the instructors, they all seemed to enthusiastically acknowledge us either with a toot from their horns, waved, and someone even gave a quick siren! It was fun to be there at that moment.

Uhhhh...Am I the only one here that gets it that ScooterDave is channeling Joe Pesci (Tommy DeVito) from the movie GoodFellas? Here's a link http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000582/
Props to ScooterDave for goofing on mall and nobody seeming to get it. Made my day! I mean, "C'mon, Make My Day".

Actually, they patterned the character in GoodFellas after ScooterDave. Or maybe ScooterDave is patterned after Danny DeVito. I dunno.
I can tell you that the thing about the fried Twinky is true.
Next time we go to Dink's for lunch, you're all invited, and you can ride or not, but you must wave to any motorcycle cops you see, and fried Twinkys are optional.
Nice way to try & change the subject. I still very much doubt the time error is my fault. Compare me to Danny DeVito again and I will show you how much fun one can have with a fried Twinkie.
Waving at malls has to be nicer than flipping off former places of employment.
Since I started scooting, I just smile and nod towards them.
Living well truly is the best revenge.
I'm a recently retired cop with an orange 125 here in Philly: I wave most of the times when I feel it's safe too, however, most Harley and crotch rocket guys don't wave back. I don't care one bit, either! In my career of 27 years I have picked (scraped) up quite a few crotch rocket guys off the highways here who were acting like a..holes! Don't take it personally that another biker does not wave at you: they all really want a scooter anyway!
DINK'S (628 Vine St., Downtown), a retro downtown lunch place with a '50s diner feel. Owned by Kent Vandersall, whose day job is general manager at the nearby Phoenix, Dink's offers cheap diner food like burgers, hot dogs, kielbasa and milkshakes. For only $1, they'll also make you a deep-fried Twinkie. Now you don't have to wait until the Ohio State Fair to stress-test your arteries; you can do it on your lunch hour.

Funny, as in you made me laugh, hahahatehehe. This is one of the funniest threads I've read in this forum. More, more...
I want to eat a fried twinkie and tell everyone i rode when i drove to Dinks.

Daylight Savings Time.
UTC or GMT/Zulu doesn't observe Daylight Savings Time - even though Greenwich England does (called 'Summertime' there)
So we in the US Eastern Time Zone are just 4 hours off of Zulu Time during the summer, but 5 hours off from local English Summertime.
It's confusing enough to make you wave at malls ...
