Best way to connect battery tender

Post by crashtestdummy »

Hey there,

I bought the http://www.pacificbattery.com/batterytender0123.html battery tender, and now I am wondering the best way to connect it to the Buddy battery when the battery is still installed on the Buddy.

Any one else use this kind of product during the driving season when the battery is not removed from the Buddy? Any install tips or better yet, photos of an install job?

Thanks
Mike

Here are a few pictures from a Battery Tender Jr. Buddy install. The Ring Terminal Harness stays on the battery 12 months out of the year, and the battery never comes out, even in the cold New England winters. Just plug it in when its time to put the scooters to bed for the winter, and they always start up in the spring!

Heres the Ring Terminal Harness installed.

When its not being used, I just tuck the wires in and put the cover back on.

This is pretty much the winter shot with the wire peeking out from under the floor mat, ready to be plugged in.

I have the battery tender, are you saying there is an attachment I could purchase that will connect to the battery tender cables and then I just plug that into the outlet on my 07 Buddy?

just make sure that your battery charger charges at less than 1 amp if you use the 12 volt power outlet. Its protected by a 1 amp fuse.

yea that is what I am saying it is in the battery tender catalog ... mine works just fine and it makes it easily changeable between vehicles...car goldwing ,scooter back to car "no hassle " and you cant hook it up backwards
