Something in carb? common problem?

Post by Buddy_wannabe »

Other day saw little puddle under Buddy ... checked it out , smelled like gas ..... I had just filled it and I did get it fuller then then I should have so I thought maybe it just spilled over because it was sitting outside and it was hot outside. I drove it a few times , no problemes , no puddles. Now tonight when I was coming home it was running good then after stopping at a stop sign I could not get it over much more then 20 MPH, kind of sputtering along and it killed in my driveway. A couple of guys at work had this same type of problem with thier TGB scoots.(both scoots were new this year). They had something in the carb. Is this a common problem? Think I'll be bringing mine in to have it looked at since it is only a few weeks old .....

When it happened to them I thought it was kind of funny .... I was giving one of them a hard time , told him "Should have bought a Buddy" .... what goes around comes around  :(

PS ........ Just thought I would add that I and they do not fill up with a gas can .... fill right from the pump. So this stuff had to already be in the scoot to begin with .... some where after the filter .... right?

Could be your air filter. If it's drenched, you'd have these same problems. May want to pull it out, check it, clean it and dry it out.
