Just pre-ordered my Stella

Post by emceecee »

Hey guys,

Been lurking on this forum for a few weeks now. I have always wanted a scooter so last week I decided to go for it and I went and wrote my test for my M1. I have my Motorcycle course this week and yesterday I went to Motoretta and put a deposit on an avocado Stella 4t. They say they should be getting their shipment in this week. I am pretty stoked.

Just thought with the scooter on the way I should stop being a lurker and introduce myself. :)

You'll be hooked for sure. While I've never had a 4t scoot, a scoot is still a scoot, and tons of fun. My 2t Stella is also avacado, and the only other color I'd even consider is the new blue one.

And don't feel bad about lurking. You'll notice hundreds of views on some topics with nary a reply. Oddly quiet here....

Yet another Avocado owner here!

I'm still really, really new at riding. The motorcycle class was helpful, and I made sure to take it on a motorcycle, not an automatic scooter (not sure if you had a choice). Still, shifting has got me down some days, but it's getting better. I even popped a few mini-wheelies with my lack of shifting grace! And on that note, don't try this at home (or on the road)...

Congrats! The avocado ones are beauty! Probably the only colour that I would rather have had than my red.

I may have a hard time sleeping tonight since I got the call today that my Stella is available for pickup tomorrow.

Good luck with your new wheels; I'm sure you're going to enjoy the heck out of it. I'm going shopping to get my scooter babe wife a helmet so we can hit the town this weekend.

MOTHER-IN-LAW watch the kid cause we don't know what time we'll be gettin' in this weekend......WooHoo.!!!!!

Check the oil level and tyre pressures in front of them before you ride off.
Oil level is checked by dipping in the dipstick but NOT screwing it in.

Mine was overfilled - oil and tyres! Oh and make sure the choke works. Mine was not connected. This seems to happen a lot.

p.s. congrats to both of you.

Great tips, thanks desmolicious. I think I'll bring my tire pressure gauge with me.

WOOHOO

Got my Stella today and BOY it is fun fun fun. I was torn between wanting to get off just to look at her, and wanting to ride till dark. Shifting is a breeze, and within a few blocks I was rockin' this sweet creme thing (it does help that I drove a motorcycle for years and I have driven a stick most of my life).

I was hoping for a bit more power since Georgia has a lot of hills, but I'm hoping I'll gain a few more horses after the break in period.

Also, I called Genuine about the Progressive lock and cover offer and was told that all I had to do was present the printed ad when I went to pick up my Stella and the dealer would send in the paperwork and they'd ship the free lock and cover to me directly. He said that if you don't do it when you pick up your bike you're SOL (well, he didn't actually say SOL).

Now if scooterworks or scooterwest would only have a good sale on chrome I'd be set. Thanks to all you folks for putting up with all the question from a non-scooter owner. Now I have a new set of questions from a scooter owner. :D

Also, my 10 year old son said I should call her ROAD HOG, or for the plate perhaps RDHOG since I'll be the smallest one out there taking up all the space on the road.

Glad to hear you got it! I should get mine next week. I'm a little worried about the shifting (tho it is one of the things that drew me to it) as I have never driven a stick car or a motorcycle. But hopefully it doesn't take too long to pick up on it.

You'll be fine. If I had never driven a motorcycle or standard shift car I still think it would have been easy to catch on to.

Dude... pics!! Congrats on the Stella delivery. Makes me even more jealous that other riders are getting their scoots and I still have weeks before I can get mine

Not to worry, it's an easy learning curve. Just be sure to let that clutch out sloooowly to avoid any surprises in 1st gear. It will be second nature in no time at all. Welcome to the old school of scooters. It wasn't that long ago all scooters shifted. Now in the world of twist and go, you've got a real piece of history. Stella is almost identical the the Vespas of the 1980's......very cool!

I'll try to take a few this weekend but I don't have any of my chrome bling yet.

The Stella 4T will be with their first Canadian owners this week. Hopefully I will have my Slate Blue plated and rolling by Tuesday evening.
