Anyone have a Glove Box Tray on their Stella?
I was thinking one of these would be nice for quick access to items like my cell phone, small change or my point-n-shoot camera but I wouldn't want to do any drilling to install the thing; do you think double stick tape would work?

I want to get one eventually - but I will quickly and cheaply faux paint it to look like wood paneling.
why do I want one in the 1st place?
the one time I drove with my regular set of keys -(which is not that big- only like 4 keys) anyway- my keys DID scratch the paint there - even took a chip out. And I am a little tired of having to have 2 sets of keys (1 for scoot and one for house).
With this tray a I can finally set it and forget it!
I am excited.
but no I haven't got one yet.
plus its like the closest thing to a gen-u-bin for the stella.
that reminds me of a post I want to make: here and here.

That's much shallower than, say, a Buddy glove bucket and many members have had phones, iPods, etc. bounce out of those. Not sure I'd trust one of these to securely hold my stuff.
On my Vespa, I made a glove box door organizer to hold tools and things I'd need quick access to. (Everything attached with Velcro™!) It's actually much easier to get into the Stella box when riding, so something like this could be more useful. Hmm… off to the surplus store, I think…

Wow Eric, what a great use of space that normally wouldn't be used. I'll be heading to Home Depot this weekend for some Velcro. I have a number of small pouches from camera items that will work great on the glovebox door. thanks

My Stella came with the one. It looks nice, but I can't tell that it's good for anything. It's so shallow that most anything you put in it will pop out with normal riding. I've never put anything in it, except my gloves while I'm gassing up.

If anyone does any "customs" with their glovebox, I'd love to have pics here!
I have thought about getting a tray or having something like that made for some kind of dash/instrument panel. I was looking at vintage car clocks and compasses and similar things, then possibly using it to hold a iPhone mount/charger and and such. Maybe I'll search eBay for a spare P/PX glovebox and see what I can do.

I still like the idea of them, but I'd think of it more as a protector than anything else. Or as your say- a good 'parked' dashboard.Howardr wrote:My Stella came with the one. Well I picked up some velcro and I ordered two of these cases that were on sale at REI. I'll post some pics after I get them mounted, if they workout. Thanks for the idea Eric.

Works like a champ; now I have a place to put my cell phone, P&S camera and Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. I was up late last night stitching the Velcro onto the backs because it kept coming off because of the weight of the items inside. The Velcro on the door is very secure and they all work fine after that bit of stitching.
