Absolutely! All scooters are welcome. I love scooter tag. I haven't had a chance to participate much recently, but I'm also gonna try to better keep up.
Sorry I didn't see that monkeykat. Poli's right, everyone is welcome - geez, they've let me play all these years - and I've *never* had a Buddy.

Which brings me to the next tag. But first, a forklift:
Image

The new tag shouldn't be hard, either. Most every community has one. Sometimes they are called the Humane Society, sometimes the Shelter, sometimes the pound, Maricopa County appears to call it Animal Care and Control. What it is is the place lost pets often end up and the place you should go for your next pet.

This is my first scooter tag! I dont know if this is ok or not, its not an animal control center, but its an animal hospital :D?

Image

If the animal hospital is ok (its up to syd), I would like to throw my own assignment out there: get a pic of your scoot with something Turkish (i found a restaurant). I guess maybe this one is hard. I have an alternate if nobody has any Turkish influence in their town :P

Ok...My first post... I've had the scooter for two weeks and took it in today for her 300 mile service. On the way home I found this:

For the next contestant: A State Park! This is a shot of Moonlight State Beach here in Encinitas, CA

Had a lot of fun reading your previous posts, I hope you have as much going out with your scooter as I did today :D

I grew up in Houston (Kingwood specifically)... If you can get out into the boonies the San Jacinto monument is part of a state park!

Okay -- I FINALLY have my scooter and this one is easy for me.

The largest state forest in Massachusetts is here in my town. October Mountain State Forest...

Image

and for the next challenge lets go with an Italian heritage theme and a picture next to a Fiat.

Image

This 1970 Fiat 500F is mine so it was easy for me also.
It doesn't have to be old, there is enough of the new ones rolling around now that it shouldn't be too difficult.

So happy I can participate now.

You live in a very beautiful place. I keep wanting to bring the bikes up there for a ride. Maybe later this fall. And that Fiat, schweeeeeeet. Great tag!

I'm looking forward to some nice rides this fall with the leaves changing.

Driving the underpowered 499cc Fiat in a hilly rural area was actually very good training for driving an underpowered 149cc scooter in the same hilly rural area.

Those long gradual hills where you lose a couple mph each second until you are going much slower at the top and cars are lining up behind you. Then you crest the hill and take off again. I try to route my way away from those both in the Fiat AND the Stella. Come to think of it my old VW Busses 20 years ago had the same problem...I think there is a theme there in my vehicle selection.

Anyway -- back to the tag...

I guess my Fiat killed the scooter tag.

How about if we expand it to any car with Italian roots?

Will that revive the tag or did I overreach too far on my first tag?

Nah not too far, I was just going to wait to see if AWinn6889 could get her friend's Fiat by this weekend (she had dibs, but no scoot yet!).

I took a ride to Jahnstin to grab a pic of the new Cinquecento (aka Fiat 500) at the dealer.
In and out before one of the guys could even talk to me.
Jahnstin is the home of Pauly D, oh yeah, another proud little Rho' Dylin' claim to fame.

New tag: your scoot with a Mini

Post by siobhan »

A pic with any Mini will do, but if you happen to have access to an old Cooper or Innocenti, let's see it!
This is the boyfriend's 1970 Innocenti Mini that he got in a trade for two Lammys.
I'm still sick over it and it's been about 10 years since the trade...I never even met the tradees because I was so sad.

Dibs? What's dibs? (Yeah, I know what's dibs, but in terms of Tag there's no such thing as dibs.)

Now, a mini, maybe even a real mini I might be able to come up with without having to cross the state. Bet you could too SoCalScooter!

...Thanks. I FINALLY get to pick it up tomorrow... I think. Never heard back on the whole insurance/registration thing today.
Apparently, NYS now requires that your whole middle name is on your license... okay. But Progressive does not have space in their insurance cards/info/whatever for more than an initial... and the DMV didn't like that.

I doubt there is another Alexandra M Winn, with my license ID#, born on my birthday in Schenectady. There is an Alexandra E Winn in Latham, born on my birthday, but she's not old enough to drive yet... sooo... DMV is dumb.

This one is so mine...

Didn't even have to pull the scooter out of the garage!

I know siobahn was requesting either generation (classic or late model) of Mini, but lets make this the next tag too. Your scooter next to a late model (2002+) Mini.

Nope, not a spare, it's the front end to that car. I currently have the front subframe removed for an engine and suspension rebuild.

Sweet garage set-up, SuperFly. What size engine? Our little guy has an 850 in it. I drove it up to PVD from Long Island and actually managed to pass one car ... a little old lady in a Taurus sedan. I keep wanting to fix it up properly and make it my winter car. Go from two 10-inchers to four.

Ok folks...getting a new Mini should be eeeeasy.

Actually I'm not sure as I haven't pulled the motor apart yet to measure the bore and stroke. The engine id tag says it's a 1098 but casting numbers on the block indicate a 1275 S. The head casting numbers are for a 1275 S motor. To a true restorer of original S cars the motor could be worth something but most folks want A+ motors with the reinforced webbing cast into the block. My car was originally from Canada (obvious by the front and rear Canada specific bumper mounts) and has the original transmission so as most of these cars are, it's a bit of a Frankenstein.

And hello, it should be VERY easy to find a new Mini somewhere!

Now THAT's too easy. If I wasn't working this evening I would have gone to any number of old schools in the area. There's a least 6 I can think of off the top of my head, and they are all within 10 miles or so.

Old in AZ is fifty years old. Older than that and it's probably been bulldozed for a housing development. But once in a while you find something like the first schoolhouse built in the city of Mesa in 1913:
Image

The next tag is easy. Everyone has this, and shouldn't have to travel too far to find it. A full moon (or nearly full):

Image

Better hurry though. you've only got two or three more days this month!

& this movie scene is under the Blatz sign from 2001's Save the last dance
(thats the back of Julia Stiles's head)

I'll bite. Here's my PCX in front of my homemade camper trailer under my homemade shed / carport next to my homemade utility trailer.

And here's the next tag:

That's my PCX in front of the Big Chicken, somewhat of a landmark around here because of its gaudiness. The next tag is your scooter with a chicken. Real chicken or monolithic chicken statues both apply.
Currently own: 2011 Honda PCX 125
Previously owned:2007 Buddy 125, 1988 Honda Spree, 2003 Honda Silverwing, 2000 KTM 125SX, 1998 Honda PC800, 2x 2008 Buddy 125, 2001 Honda Reflex, 1987 Honda Elite, 5 other bikes (hit text limit for sig)

This may sound weird, but I've been waiting to include this very chicken in a tag! I pass this guy on Narragansett all the time on my way to a friend's place. Where did he come from? Why is he in front of the liquor store? God bless America...and Bud? Mystery and intrigue!

Just got my Stella back after sidecar install and had to jump back into the game before it gets too cold to scoot (if there is such a thing?)...

Image

There is actually another barber shop with barber pole two doors down -- I should have tried to get both in the shot for a double-tag "bonus."

I'll post the next tag later today.

Next Tag: Playhouse/Treehouse

Post by listless »

We got 19 inches of snow here and it is all gone except for a few piles in the shade. Enjoying the upper 50's in the afternoons this week because we likely won't be seeing that again until April.

Next Tag: A children's playhouse or treehouse. It isn't required to be under construction as ours (perpetually) is.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/7866696@N07/6328360243/" title="Scooter with Playhouse by listlessscott, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6237/632 ... 49edbc.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Scooter with Playhouse"></a>

I'll accept any "play-related structure" if it goes more than a few days.
