I don't get what your trying to say. Do you mean why? If so I drive scooters this because I like the drive and I like driving something diffent that has style, history, and joy in it at once. Always think about getting a motorcycle but I know that I wouldn't be as happy as with my scooters. This wish that modern vespa wasn't so much money.

Depends on the day, but I would have to say...semi-aggressive. I go a little faster than I should, but not a lot, and LOVE passing people on the scooter.

+1

I drive my car fairly conservatively but for some reason I drive the scooter more aggressively. I pretty sure that's why I'm only averaging 66.1mpg on my fuelly

 I agree with that sentiment.

I usually go a bit faster than the speed of traffic, but I ride very smooth -- slow acceleration, slow braking. I get 96mpg on the PCX riding this way. I'm not sure what I'll get with the Buddy I have now, but I used to get about 90mpg with the two I had back in 2009/2010.

I realized I probably ride too aggressively. At times it may be called for, but most of the time not.

I can definitely credit one crash to this behavior, when riding too fast in the canyons and hitting some sand in a downhill turn.

In general, there's no call for it and this type of riding simply creates problems. In city traffic, in the hills, wherever, all it does is reduce the amount of time you have to react to potential issues. It also means that other vehicles have less time to react to me, less time to see me.

One of the reasons I appreciate the Stella is that it helps keep me to reasonable city speeds and makes me a bit more attentive to my riding style. I can't ride it the same way I ride my Vespa and when I've tried, well, I crashed. And it hurt. Lesson learned!

kinda a story about how i ride it

well, its like my sig says

today i was riding in a cage and saw a girl on a china scoot flying down fair oaks ave in pasadena just north of old town. zipping through traffic, and yeah going fast. got way out in front of us b4 she disappeared for good. i thought "man i wish i was riding, such a fine day. and she rides like i ride!"

cut to several minutes later in south pasadena, cop car just arriving at a corner, girl and scoot down at intersection corner. girl on ground, sitting up, helmet on, small crowd around her. scoot laying on it's side

my first thought was 'hope she's ok.' my second was 'someone needs to pick up that scoot!' poor scooter :(

but yeah, see sig

Like Eric says - some riding strategies are counter productive.

I ride pretty hard simply because Phoenix traffic is unforgiving, especially downtown. That's why I chose the bike that I did. I will *always* love Stella and have an eye on a beat up '03 that may make a great rat bike for VERY cheap, but right now, the P is the main bike and it's built to take the abuse. Even then, I could use more power off the line. It's saddled with the puny 20mm carb (being the US version) so hopefully an upgrade to a 24mm carb and Sito+ will give me what I need.

Then again, I don't ride harder than I can wrench.

I probably ride mine like I went to the dealership to buy a sportbike but came out with a scooter.

I ride like I'm going someplace other than work...

which makes up for things when I get there.

unless it's slick/raining out. like today . . . i rode like a wee grandmother. most of my falls have been wet-related, so i get suuuuper cautious then.
