My scooter finally joined me in Los Angeles

Post by mia_mali »

And I am so thrilled. Semper Fi Haulers (reaaaaally recommend them, they're awesome!) brought my scooter to my doorstep and got it all unloaded and helped me put on new mirrors (since my old ones got stolen right before it shipped out). My lil pup and I rode it up to my building (it was just like 20 or so feet, but he seemed to enjoy the ride).

Sorry, I know this isn't reallllly of interest to anyone, but I'm so stoked.

I really want to go! I'll see if I can get someone to switch shifts with me Friday.

I took Frankenelope to work today and everyone surprisingly was reaaaallyninto it. Some people said I was badass for braving LA traffic on two wheels. It was good to hear people giving scooters some badass cred ;)

I want to know more about Semper Fi Haulers- are they specialty movers? Long distance movers? What was so good about your experience?

And yay reunions!

Luna, they're specialty movers, I believe. They were the only one out of the movers I contacted that actually cared about the specifics of my scooter so they could charge by weight instead of an exorbitant, flat rate motorcycle fee like every other shipper I spoke to. The guy who was shipping my scooter contacted me and my boyfriend personally and worked with me to set up a drop off time that would work around my schedule since I didn't know for sure when I'd be home. They kept me updated on the status during their drive and let me know that my scooter was okay.

I really appreciated the personal touch, even though it took longer than some of the companies that chain-ship
