Are any of the 170 panels different than the other models? All the panels on the previous models interchange including the 50 - except for the surround on the 50s and early 125s that had the smaller headlight. Also fairly simple to repaint a panel or two yourself if that is all that is needed. (an opportunity to think about custom color schemes  )

A post in the "Who's crashed?" string would be useful for other riders.

You can't be serious. Own your accident, squirrel or no squirrel. and never, ever try to evade a small animal, it will only bring you suffering. Aim at them, they usually get out of the way.
Using the internet for evil since 1994.

Probably not the dead ones though, they tend to be a lot slower  .

The driver that hit the squirrel isn't necessarily an "idiot", even if they were doing 20. I'll bet he didn't even know the squirrel was there. Squirrels will dart right under your car at the last second and you didn't even know it until you feel the bump and look in your rear view mirror.

Plus, wait until you own your own home and they decide to attack the house. See if you think they're so fuzzy and cute when it takes $10,000 to repair the damage. Or try repairing the phone and cable lines every 2 to 3 weeks for 5 years straight. Ask me how much that cost.

I imagine the body panels on the 170i are the same as on the 125 and 150. If your local dealer can't get them, Scooterworks, Scooterwest and the Scooter Lounge should have them.

PS. Sorry you took a spill. At least it was at slow speed and you didn't get injured. Look at the bright side.

I agree with you on squirrels being issues, and I know that they can--and DO--often do the things you mentioned, but are you sure that at least some of your problems weren't rats?

There seems to be an explosion of rats the last couple of years! I used to feed the birds until one day we saw a rat had climbed the thin metal pole holding the suet feeders. Upon further investigation, there were piles of rat turds all around that area, showing that they had been eating all the stuff the birds had dropped. YUCKKKKK!

I never would have believed a rat could climb that thin metal, but seeing is believing!

Sorry to go off-topic....

Fortunately and thankfully (knock on wood), I've never had a problem with rats. Don't get me started on bats and woodpeckers.

My problems at that house were all squirrel. We would find dead/dessicated ones in our attic all the time. Same with remodeling. There were dead/dessicated squirrels in the walls.

I would often be in the kitchen watching them sever our phone line. It never helped to run outside yelling and waving your arms or throwing tennis balls. They knew you couldn't reach them. They'd sit there and laugh at you while they tore things up. I also watched one blow up the neighborhood transformer one morning while I was drinking coffee. I saw him electricute himself and then the transformer blew and he fell to the ground dead and on fire. The exploding transformer almost caught the whole neighborhood on fire. Sparks and flames everywhere. We were without power for a couple days.

All the repair guys knew the difference between rat damage and squirrel damage. And they would always say it was squirrels. I was told by the telephone and cable people that 80% of their "no service" calls in our area were a result of squirrels.

Sounds like your neighborhood needs to make a Walmart trip to get some bb guns!
Our problem here is the noisy chipmunks! One outside of our bedroom window chills on the end of a branch on the pine tree on the side of our house and chirps... and chirps... and chirps. From the second the sun comes up to mid afternoon. I even had the chirping in my dream a couple days ago (it was the sound of a friend of mine squeaking a wobbly desk, in my dream)!!

Anyway, sorry to hear about your scoot, the body panels shouldn't be too hard to paint... or find new ones. Good luck!
No power in the 'verse can stop me.

I just want to say for the record, that in my neighborhood we have lots of sparrows, squirrels, finches, chipmunks, doves, and ducks; a few coons, possums, and skunks; and the occasional stray deer or turkey. But the only neighbors I've ever had any trouble with (aside from the squirrels climbing the bird feeder instead of settling for the ample seeds the birds drop) were the mice and the humans.
