What patches do you folks have on your jackets?

Post by Mulliganal »

I just ordered a corazzo jacket for my wife and I also have one myself, but I wanted to get her a patch of some kind and was wondering what patches most folks have on their jackets, other than their scooter club patch of course.

Current club patch on the front (though unfortunately I haven't had much time to ride with them lately), Piaggio patch on the shoulder that doesn't have the Corazzo patch on it, and 3 Modern Vespa patches on the lower back. One for each year I've owned my Vespa, since that's one "club" I know I'll be in where ever I go.

This is on a Corazzo 5.0.

Would totally have Genuine, Modern Buddy or SPAZ patches if I had a Buddy. :) Maybe in the future...

None. I do however, have this really big bag-o-patches. Yep, all kinds of patches in there—rally patches, SPAZ patches, a MB patch, various clubs, Amerivespa... one of these days I'm going to learn how to sew. :P

ModernBuddy, ModernVespa Moderator patch, SPAZ patch, Modern Vespa '06 patch (last one with the Vespa logo). 2 on each sleeve of my Corazzo Max.

I have a ton of rally patches in a bag as well as many other ModernVespa patches and some others. I've designed a couple for MV and don't even have those on anything (yet).

Not in a club. We have our riding group, but no patch. Some clubs actually have rules preventing members from wearing another group's patch or participating above a certain level. So no patches for the LA Scooter GROUP. :)

Well... I don't plan on putting any on my jackets, BUT I do have a "Scooter Bag"... an old messenger bag that I have had forever, that I use on the scoot. It currently has zero patches on it. I hope to eventually get an MB patch for it, and a Genuine Scooter Co. patch (from like Scooterworks or something) and MattGordon just sent me a couple patches with the Corazzo Hoodie that I just purchased from him (definitely feeling the Genuine family "love"!) and a pin! Perfect to get me started!
(Temecula Wine Country Ride, and Cafe Moto Vespa Club Temicula, and Wine Country Invitational)

Scooterworks has a bunch of great patches, and once I have some expendable income again, I plan on stocking up. I really want a S.P.A.Z. patch, but it looks like they are all out of stock on scootmoto, etc.
Also, I am planning on starting a Saratoga/Schenectady,NY based scooter and motorcycle group in the spring, for which I will likely be creating new patches, so obviously that one will show up on my bag too!
(Will probably post pictures/questionnaire design thread about it some time over the winter...)

I haven't put anything on my mesh or textile jackets yet, but I have this green & tan jacket that our company gave out years ago, and I sewed a Dead Bunny Scooter Club patch on it. Great conversation starter in the elevator. ;)

I just have a MB patch on my jacket. I have a SPAZ patch but putting the patches on my Kevlar mesh jacket is a total PITA so it hasn't made it on there yet

My Timbuk2 bag has the Modern Buddy, Resurgence III, and a Mod bullseye. My Prima jacket has a "scooterist" badge in the style of the London Underground on the right, and a Liverpool FC crest on my left.

I have 2 jackets- a light cotton jacket that's my 'patch jacket' that happens to match Lokky's (sickening, I know- wasn't on purpose, he lost weight, bought a smaller size and had an extra :P ) and I plan to cover that in all kinds of patches- whatever I want.... a cupcake patch, because he bought me an adorable one a while back, a seven hills patch, I want a MB and I SUPER want a SPAZ patch (also, a Hello my username is patch). Some of my cooler patches, like my Serenity patch, will go here too.

I have a computer bag that I am going to put mostly anime patches on, because I decided to separate kinds of patches and my laptop goes with me to cons.

And our Prima saddlebags, we have decided, are going to have patches from Rallies and places we've traveled to on the scooters- right now there's a Seven Hills Club patch, a Carter Mountain Orchard patch, and an Indian Summer 6 patch.

My Cortech armored jacket- if it freaking fits when it gets here- I will probably just put Seven Hills patches on (left shoulder, and the awesome looking giant one on the back) and maybe a MB/Hello my username is patch, and a Genuine patch somewhere probably.

I have stopped putting patches on my jacket. I went to the thrift store and bought a dark blue work shirt (think tree trimmer) and have sewn patches to that. Lot easier than trying to hand sew through a heavy Corazzo jacket. I wear it a few times during the year. Especially when I attend a rally.

Aside from the anime.... I think you and I were separated at birth  .
I have to dig them out of my fabric/clothing making/sewing stuff box but I have a FireFly patch, and a cupcake (...and a zombie cupcake!) patch, a skull and crossbones with a pretty tiara, and one with a moustache.... ...somewhere. Once I get my Prima bags (might be selling my kayaks this week, keeping my fingers crossed!) those will be subject to all sorts of pins and patchery from my travels! I'm putting stickers on the non-holey side of my small milk crate already too.
I agree with the bulk of you, trying to sew those bad boys onto these heftier textile jackets is a nightmare, I have the puncture wounds in my fingers to prove it!

If it's okay with admins and the rest of you, maybe I can do the "Modern Buddy, Hello my Username is:" patches when I do the Saratoga Scooter and MC Group ones this winter... ?
The only thing that will kind of stink about the "Hello my name is:" ones is that you would have to probably use a sharpie, fabric paint pen, or somehow stitch your own name on there.... OR GLITTER GLUE! YES!! ...Anyway, it wouldn't be cost effective to make a patch for each person, unless you had one of those fancy schmancy heavy duty embroidery machines hanging around your house... which I don't... idk about the rest of you.

Yes, switch the anime for skulls and we could be the same 0.o Although I have to admit your skulls are pretty cute (and Lokky would love the one with the 'stache)

I was assuming the Hello patches would be blank and we'd have to sharpie our name in, just like on a real sticker name tag. The bigger debate is do we do them in blue/white or red/white  (hehe instigating... I hate red usually, but tbh it would probably look better/stand out more on most jackets)... maybe you should make a thread about it and see how many people are actually interested, and pm Eric about it.

If enough people were interested, I could probably do both blue and red and still be able to keep the price pretty cheap.
I'll make a thread about it before I Hijack this one hardcore lol.

I bought a denim motorcycle vest and put my patches on that. It has my club/riding group patch and my Iron Butt patch on the breast pockets and my rally patches on the back. I've been given patches from 2 other clubs/riding groups and wear those as well. I also have a reflective patch with "Howard" on it above my left breast pocket for easy identification.

The patch pillow!

Image

I was lazy and used fabric glue. All the patches fell off in a week. I have better glue now, so will be trying again.

Last time I tried to sew patches, I would up with bloody fingertips.

wow, is it THAT serious? i dunno, i guess i've always been a no-politics kind of person . . . i guess i could see certain circumstances where it might come into play (like a gymkhana competition or something), but . . . i dunno! *shrugs*

I'm often amazed at how seriously people take this kind of thing. Yeah.

The glue gun failed and I can't sew to save my life.

But these are the patches I'd LIKE to get onto my Corazzo Speedway jacket.

2 work related patches, 2 rallies I've been to so far, and 3 trophy patches.

Shenandoah National Park for the entire length of the park on Skyline Drive (105 miles), Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel for the loop of the bay and crossing that 16 mile beast, and the Metro patch for riding to all 86 stations in 1 day.
