Pics from the Great Southwest Scooter Fiesta III.
Some other Tucson folks and I rode up to Phoenix for the GSSF III last month. I took a few pics and made a youtube video of it.

I don't usually enjoy watching videos of pictures, but this one wasn't bad at all. It might have been the music...
Looks like it was fun. Makes me a little sad that I missed a local rally in town because I was under the weather.

Very nice job putting that together! It looks like you hard weather. Us northern mid-westerns are jealous!

Probably Mount Lemmon, if only for it's length. 26 miles of switch backs and twisties (then 26 miles back down). South mountain is only about 2 miles, Oak Creek Canyon is about 3 miles, route 89 from Wilhoit to Prescott is 15 miles.Syd wrote:Howard, now that you've ridden all three (89a up the switchbacks, S Mtn in Phx and Mt Lemmon); what's best? (Oh, time getting there is not a factor.)
I have a plan to go and count every curve on Mt Lemmon. Tail of the Dragon is big on saying how many curves there are there, but I have a feeling that there are more on Mt Lemmon.

Oh yeah, I've ridden it. I've got the blog post and the video to prove it: http://skyislandriders.com/?p=1100Syd wrote:Thanks, Howard, that's about what I thought. Another piece of 89a you should see, if you haven't already, is the stretch between Clarkdale and Prescott Valley (through Jerome). That's another pretty awesome road.
That was some great riding as well. If distance isn't a problem, you should also consider riding Route 78 on the AZ/NM border, near Silver City:

This might well be my second favorite ride.

I'm planning on riding 191 in the spring. The weather is a little too unpredictable to try it during the winter.Syd wrote:Dangit! I live in the wrong parts of the state; all straight lines. I saw your writeups of 78 and 191 (though 191 on the map still looks mighty fine).
