Sometimes manufacturers list the weight of scooters as dry weight and other times as wet (or curb). My question is, if say a "generic" scooter's weight is listed as dry, what's a good ballpark figure to add to it to estimate the wet weight? The range of scooters I'm talking about are those in the 250cc to 330cc range.
Thanks!

In general, dry weight of a motorcycle excludes the weight of the fuel, engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and in some cases, the battery.
In the case of the Helix (250cc), the difference is about 24 pounds:
3.2 gals fuel @ 6.25 lbs/gallon = 20 lbs.
2 qts coolant @ 8 lbs/gallon (using water as a weight basis) = 4 lbs.

Keep in mind, though, that many scooters only carry half that amount of fuel and many are air cooled and therefor have no coolant.
In the Buddy's case, 10lbs is about right.
