How about a nice November ride?

Post by jprestonian »

In Nashville, for cryin' out loud. When it was 71F outside, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, even.

In Rochester Mi it was near 60 and dry. Took the scooter out for a ride- probably the last chance I will get before the weather turns nasty! Cold rain is on the schedule for the upcoming week.

I rode to work, and on errands yesterday, and took it out for about 15 minutes today. It has been almost 60* and sunny the last two days... changed the oil and tranny fluid tonight, and it's away for the winter :(

With temps falling all day today, and rain* falling much of it, there were no "nice" November rides to be had. Didn't stop me from riding to the gym this morning and to a movie (Hugo) this afternoon, though. :)

*I'm pretty sure I saw some of those "drops" behaving like flakes.

Spent the Thanksgiving weekend on Long Island, Saturday was a beautiful day there, wished I had my scoot with me. Actually saw two Buddys, one in Oceanside and one in Long Beach.

You folx are allowed to go watch the 7-minutes of close-to-the-ground video, and even to leave a comment, if you can figure out how my commenting system works. :)

^^^^ Nice ride...as to the vaporlock, you popped the cap and it went away?...

Reminds me of some of the roads here in MD. I know some really good twisty back roads...BEST place to be on two wheels

Yes; that always fixes it. The People 250 has a tiny vent in the side edge of the cap that is easily clogged with dirt and road grime. I finally stopped worrying about it and just started riding with the cap open whenever the vapor lock started manifesting itself.

Hope you enjoyed the video!

Actually, not vacuum, but overpressure -- vapor trapped in bubbles in the fuel line.

Sorry; software would not allow me to quote the OP.

True vapor lock? Usually it turns out to be vacuum on the Buddy, but to be sure I've experienced no end of vapor lock on my 73 VW, until I rerouted the fuel line further away from the hot engine.
