I recently had the opportunity to do some work on a Yamaha Vino 125.
VIN plate says made in Taiwan, which was news to me....also, the deeper I got, the more the parts, construction method, and sub-components looked, well exactly like a PGO/Buddy.
Does, could they, is it....?
Yamaha Vino 125-PGO connection?

Yamaha sourcing parts from PGO in Taiwan? Would make sense if it's built there.
Kind of interesting. I thought they were built in Japan, too.

Actually the Vino and many other Yamaha scooters and small motorcycles are built in Taiwan. Probably lower labor costs than in Japan
. Also, I believe both the Vino engine and the Buddy engine are variations on the original Honda GY6 design so there is a fair amount of similarity. Likely that many parts are outsourced to many of the same subcontractors, even if not to PGO directly.

Almost all of the 150cc & smaller Asian scoots use an engine that's some variation of the Honda GY6!
