Part availability for the Rattler 110cc...?

I'm considering purchasing another Buck-Ten from a dealer who has a leftover in the warehouse. I had owned a 2007 in the past and want to get another 2t bike.
Does Genuine still support reliable part replacement for this discontinued charm? I don't want to be wandering Taiwan websites for necessary maintenance and replacement.

If you ever do get stuck for parts I can get them a few blocks from my house. I redid one from the wheel bearings up a year or two go and the parts are still easy to get in Taiwan.

Rattler (110cc) Accessories are less available these days as new two-stroke sales have been banned for quite some time in Taiwan (extremely strict bike exhaust emission testing here). It is strictly an export product.

The Buddy is also made here by PGO (sold as Bubu in Taiwan, Metro in Canada, and Ligero in the UK. Parts and accessories are available.

Do all rattlers have the 12v outlet in that front pocket? I bought mine used and a little battered, and I noticed that it has a hole where that outlet should be but there is no outlet? Thanks

USA-spec Genuine Rattler 110's did, yes.

Genuine didn't make a custom manual. They used the PGO manual. You want to reference the PMX-110 stuff.

Well, I don't know about the rest of the rattler owners, but I can't even find a drive belt for my bike! Scooterworks says they don't have any in stock, and other scooter part retailers are SOL. I am beginning to think I should of just bought that Buddy 125 last year even if my feet didn't fit. It's important since the CVT is stuttering on take off and I need to find stock variator and clutch parts so I can make it tolerable

Do you have the size of the belt?

You can always use something close in size to get you by. There are plenty of places that carry many belts in plenty of sizes for great prices.

What makes you think the belt is the issue?

These are slightly shorter than stock length, however they should work:

In a recent post I said the rattler parts are readily available here in Taiwan. I went to pick up a PGO110MX headlamp unit the other day and was told that they can't even get them anymore because the bike is too old. I can probably get non-OEM (ie jobber or after-market) engine parts for these but body parts are out of the question now.

This doesn't quite inspire me with confidence...

As for the belt: I know I'm going to have to replace the "performance" variator simply because it sucks for commuting. Too rough of take off and the clutch is chattering due to it being hot-rodded too much by my guess. I figure that I might as well throw a new belt on there, but if you can't even get one in the country they are made, it looks like Genuine may of left us with an orphaned bike.

MInd if I ask how much the dealer is asking for the Ratt and what year it is? I'm considering a purchase of a leftover '09 myself but have to drive 420 miles to get it??? Any thoughts on whether that is a good idea?

I would say its gonna depend on what your wanting to do with it. If your buying it as your only means of transportation and are going to be driving it everyday to work or something, I would say no. Simply because parts are becoming harder and harder to find. But if your just looking for a fun toy to play around with on the weekends, you'll never find a scooter that is more fun to ride IMO.

are they discontinued? they are still on the pgo website. i know kgi.dk still claims to have most of the plastics. i'd hate to see the time when your buying other pmx/rattlers just for the parts.
