The Lights work, but the needle just sits there, right?

Yup, common. The cable that connects the wheel gear is disconnected from the speedo, probably in the headset.

It sucks, but you need to unscrew the screws holding the top of the headset. Carefully open the headset and reach in (the part that sucks) and screw on the cable as tight as possible (you don't want to have to do this again).

You can make it easier by unscrewing the cable at the wheel, but be careful because the inner cable will want to fall out. Don't let any dirt get into there!

Man, I miss this forum - it's been too long.

I had this happen and after fixing it, it happened again. I used the blue loctite on it the second time and have been good ever since. I guess my fingers were just not strong enough on their own.

Right on. If it happens once, it will happen again unless you you a wrench or Loctite - blue, not red.

Red Loctite is evil.
