Price for new plastics?
I've run across a few threads where people were asking about painting, and it got me curious. About how much does a full set of body panels cost? And is the color molded in, or are new body panels just painted at the factory?

The plastics are painted, the base color of mine is white as the inner "windshield" is unpainted. I don't know for sure but people have posted links to vendors of plastics in the past. I was able to quote from my dealer in Lexington in spring 09 $635 for a set of Pamplona plastics, minus the red inner footwell plastics and seat. Look around in the for sale section, you may find people getting rid of the plastics cheap. People have done decent painting them themselves, or any auto shop and hook you up.
Good luck!

Hmm. Just curious. If I ever get one, chances are it'll be a 150cc International, but I honestly HATE the color schemes... I just want the engine. If I get one, I'd HAVE to paint it, or maybe trade plastics with someone that had a solid color. Buddies are cool, but IMHO, the two tone pastels are a little too.... flamboyant.

I also wish they would do other two tones, besides the Internationals. I would get a St. Tropez, but thats because my fave color is blue.Swordsman wrote:Hmm. Just curious. They need to give us 150cc with better colors. And I'm kind of a little upset that they weren't a little more creative with the new colors for the 170's. More Internationals? Really?

They're not making any more 150's? Ooooh, there it is in bold print on the website.
Huh.
Guess Fuel Injection really is imminent. Bummer.
I wish they'd make a Buddy "Muscle". Use carbs and the 187cc (or whatever it is) performance kit, but keep the rest of it a basic Buddy. Just like a muscle car... all engine, nothing extra.

I just posted this link in answer to another question, but here is the scooterlounge link with body parts. By the way, added them all up, was doing it as I scanned down so I may be off a little, but I came up with around $500 for replacing every single colored panel. That does not include shipping though.
