FOOT PEGS - Good news and bad news
As some of you know I designed a set of forward foot pegs for our Buddy scooters and was in the process of having them built by a local machinist. My original intent was to have him make runs of 10 or so sets of them and sell them via this sight and ebay.
The good news is that i have an awesome looking and performing set of pegs for my Buddy!!!
The bad news is that due to the number of man hours needed to construct each set my machinist has told me that he cant make any more sets until the end of lawn mowing season (his second job) and the price is going to be $120 plus shipping. No where near the $50 plus shipping I was aiming for. Now pictures almost do justice to how nice this product is and I do believe he will be able to make approx. ten sets this winter and they will all sell. But I was hoping for a product that everyone would be able to justify having on their Buddy.
I will def. be making a new posting sometime this winter and letting you all know when I have foot pegs available for sale.

Those look VERY sturdy! Looks like a very smart build. Could you perhaps check some of the local custom car shops or machine shops to see about sourcing another bid now that you have a prototype? Of course, you'd have to see what the original fabricator of the design felt since it is his build, but perhaps another shop can help reduce the cost a bit if you shoot for some bids.
Would love to see more of these on the road!

Slick design, but I think they would be better if they just had a universal mount instead of actual pegs. Probably be quicker (and cheaper) to make, and then the buyer could choose from a huge assortment of aftermarket folding pegs.
Cool idea though, and fantastic mounting job! I especially like the cross piece.

Good news/bad newsblack sunshine wrote:any chance they could give the design for someone else to do?out18law18 wrote:no such luck. the machinist that built the prototype is currently working two full time jobs and has no time for side work.
The good news is I got an awesome deal on a used Harley. The bad news is that I sold the Buddy yesterday along with the only set of foot pegs.
I have a second design in my head if anybody local would want to stop by with their Buddy I would be happy to discuss it with them and maybe even help them draw it out to take it to a machinist. Just PM me if interested.
