Hi, My G-MAX 200 in South Africa
Hi!
This is my first post...
Just wanted to share my PGO G-Max 200 with you and get some comments.
This was the first 200 in the country, which my dealer organised with Kawasaki SA to get the very first one that came in, a week or 2 before the official launch at the Amid bike show in Johannesburg.
I got her on 15/05/2007..... Almost 2000 miles later I could not be happier.
She runs like a charm, approx. 70-80mph (110-120kph) straight road and 90mph (145kph) max.
Handling is superb and breaking even better.
Now I'm just waiting performance parts to come to SA so that I can play a bit......he.he...
Tell me what you think.

What kind of engine mods, accessories, etc. are available there for the GMax? We have very little here in terms of performance add-ons.

What an awesome looking scoot - and 200cc, too, you got it made!
I wish they'd bring this model to the USA. The 150cc is friendly and fun, but a little extra power could go a long way.
One thing I find curious - that spring at the middle bottom of the bike - I thought for 200cc G-Max scooters they didn't have that. I don't know if they changed that recently or if I've just always been mistaken.

Thanks, she is a lot of fun. Yeah, thats right the 200 has the monoshock, same as the 150cc.
I weigh 80kg, probably helps a lot with top speed, I drilled out the second "dummy" throat at the bottom of the exhaust. That makes it almost like a freeflow exhaust.
I am still going to make her do 160km/h or more....he he.
As far as performance enhancements, there is only "AiRage" exhausts so far, but I am sure they will bring out conversion kits etc. I am sure I could use a Honda 250cc conversion though......we'll see in good time.

I've talked to a few people that test-rode the sample 200 that Genuine broguht in, and it sounds like the difference was pretty negligible, and I've also heard the cost difference was quite a bit higher than originally estimated, so I figure that's why they didn't bring it in, wasn't worth the extra cash. Hopefully, they're working on a kit or something.beelzebubbles wrote:What an awesome looking scoot - and 200cc, too, you got it made! :) I wish they'd bring this model to the USA. I'm surprised to hear that, since 150cc->200cc is a 33% jump in displacement. And I don't have the exact weight differences on hand, but I assume Blur 200 doesn't weight 33% more than Blur 150.illnoise wrote: I've talked to a few people that test-rode the sample 200 that Genuine broguht in, and it sounds like the difference was pretty negligible, and I've also heard the cost difference was quite a bit higher than originally estimated, so I figure that's why they didn't bring it in, wasn't worth the extra cash. People who kit their ET4's from 150cc to 190cc usually claim they get a big boost, so I can't help but wonder if the sample Blur 200 wasn't tuned up very well or something.
Of course I'd always welcome a Blur 250 to the USA ...

I'm totally digging the redline tires! I love my buddy, but I think I'm ready for some more displacement. 200cc would be nice, thank you.

Thanks, it actually did not come with the redline tyres, I added those with reflective tape. You should see those at night when the light cathes it.
I have taken on a few other GMax 150cc and other brand 200cc scoots - none of them has managed to stay with me or catch up to me so far.
The 150cc is quick but nowhere near quick enough to catch or stay with this 200cc, and that has been the case since I've had her, no mods done.
Maybe the test Blur was tuned differently?...

Hi, My G-MAX 200 in South Africa
The HP on the 06 and 07 is 11.6. the HP on the 200 is 14.3 which is a 23% increase.
The weight on the 150 is 289. The weight on the 200 is 306. Increase of 5.8%.
I just happened to look these up yesterday. Phillip from genuine is supposed to announce what is coming out for 2009 soon on the "Just Gotta Scoot" website very soon so I was looking around to see what they might bring from PGO.
