Can, and did, to the first interview, even. :) Long commute for me... about 30 miles one way, and unless I wear out the interstate every day, close to an hour commute, each way. I may wait until I get a bigger bike to do the interstate every day... the local speeds and drivers here are somewhat intimidating for a 250.Mutt the Hoople wrote:Congratulations! Hope you can scoot to work :D
Thanks, y'all! I was ready for my 45-month "retirement" to end.

Congrats on the job. I too have been seeking employment in my field (filed biologist) ever since graduating in December. Its only been 5 months and I'm at wits end, I can't even imagine what 45 months was like. I just took a part time job at Walmart so I could atleast pay the interest on my student loans (stupid me). Well its great to hear good news I hope you like your new employment

Awesome!!! Glad to hear someone else getting the break they deserve! Don't feel too bad: I resorted to Pizza Delivery just to get the medical insurance for cancer treatment when I got canned in '08. Just recently got back to a position of Technical Director assistant. It's only part-time, but I'm thrilled to have title and a theater in a market where only 1 out of 10 workers in the arts are employed.
And, you couldn't have a more noble position in my mind! Water treatment is one of those things the hipster middle class loves to look down on, but requires more education, stamina and physical/metal stress than any office gig. It takes some tough and talented people to keep complex chemical systems like that going for society

"Earth" without Art is just "Eh"...

Well, I'm already done with college per say, but the job market here blows and I'm working on a grad degree. I don't have much time for a real job at the moment, and the two p/t-ish ones I work are measly and miserable. Another year and a half... woo hoo.Syd wrote:Do not forget this. I am very thankful that I have my two jobs though.. some can't even get one right now.
Also, if I didn't have these I wouldn't have a scooter!
