some new parts...

Post by skully93 »

Since the mirror stem steadfastly refuses to come out, the shop said rather than strip it all down and dink with it, they'll just get me a new assembly on the cheap. I also asked for black grips.

I inquired about the Prima pipe. they ordered one at no obligation, because they normally keep 1 in stock.

Found some older threads on the subject, mostly for 125's, but...

For a 150 does it do anything besides look pretty and make noise? if it 'improves performance' does it screw anything up at top end? Massacre gas mileage?

I figure since it's 4t there won't be much of a backflow change, so it should be cosmetic, which I would be fine with, just wondered if anyone else had experience with it.

danke!

Without other performance mods, you probably won't get much benefit from the pipe.

I figured it would just be pretty/change the tone.

I don't really see a reason to mod it. It performs as much as I could ask it to for it's size, all while getting great mpg.

I guess if I want 'more' out of it at some point. Seems a bit silly now when it's not quite to broken in.

For me the pipe gave me just a bit more bottom end but it sounds way better. Also noticed that drivers notice my presence more which is a good thing. My biggest performance gain came from up-jetting and variator mods.

Smith,

how did that affect your gas mileage?

in a year or two, when my service contract is ending, that's probably when I will have them overhaul it. of course they would love for me to do the 161 kit and such, but having minor updates would guarantee a long life rather than tearing it up. I also love the 75mpg...

I recall that, when the Prima was installed on a Black Jack, a one size upjet was recomended. That's what was done to mine. I can't comment on performance because the pipe was installed before delivery.
