Better performance

Post by Drum Pro »

Has anyone else who rides/owns a 170I noticed that after 1500 miles the scoot seems to perform better with better gas mileage too. I know that it works that way for the Stella but after I got it back from Noho scooter shop i've noticed that my scoot is really preforming much better. I guess it IS true that after the "break in period" this happens. I thought it went by model....

oil change? maybe synthetic oil

The Stella breaks in ALOT, I'm surprised a 170 would improve so much..But thats great to hear!

The 125s improve as the engine breaks in, no reason why that wouldn't be true of the 150s and 170s as well.

Yep, it is extraordinary the difference the break-in makes. Especially if it is done properly and all required maintenance is done to spec. Generally the big performance boost seems to come at 1400-1600 miles or so.

my 125 started to feel smoother and takes less throttle to hit 50-55 mph; I was also a bit anal retentive with 4 oil changes during the first 1000 miles (filter changed @ 300 miles by the shop) & I put on a new one @ 1000 miles; I just hit 1200 miles and feel the difference; I hope it gets better by 2000 miles

Honestly, I feel the curve into the 3000+ area. Its real quick to get to 60bmph. Much improved from the beginning.

I had 3 distinct improvements in performance. The first was around 600 miles, the second around 1,500 miles, and the third around 3,000 miles. At this rate, I should be doing 100mph by next year.
