How is some kid (or "adult") running a 160+ dB bass thumper any different from this? Both are annoying and should get tickets.
Safety my ass, it's an advertizing gimmick and should be shut down hard and fined right along with that "skippy" ice cream man and his death toll bell.
Sorry, this sort of thing really irks me since I got pleanty of tickets as a kid with my car stereo and when I called in a Carvel ice cream store daily from balloons setting off their burglary alarms every night, they warned me about stopping calling it in since it was deemed to be a security feature and not a nuisance.
Bite me (in general, nobody specific)

It is gimmicky but considering how quiet the Buddy is, imagine that it is electric and it makes absolutely no noise at all, and you are stopping a lot (ie deliveries) It is a a safety feature, it is not as loud as some of the comparisons that some of you are making, and this is not in the US so some of the comparisons being made are moot points. I think that having the silly and humorous approach to this, rather than forcing their drivers to have to constantly use their horns, is a good idea.
