2007 Genuine Buddy Value

I am looking at buying a 2007 125 cc Buddy with 10,000 miles on it. I want to know if 1200 is a reasonable price for this? It is in fair condition. Are there any websites that show the value of scooters? I am located in Austin.

What color?!

Have the seller meet you at your local genuine dealer (or a reputable shop) and have it checked out. You'll need to pay for the inspection but you'll be buying peace of mind. If the inspection suggests scooter was maintained regularly during the 10,000 miles, it should be good to go for another 10,000-20,000 miles at least.

I don't know any kelly blue book type sites for scooter values, but you can check E-Bay's completed auctions to see if there are comparable sales - that's going to tell you what others are actually paying in the market place.

I think $1,200 is a fair price IF the scoot is mechanically sound. You might try talking them down to $1,000 or $1,100? It depends on how motivated they are to sell.

If you are new to riding, you should budget for and purchase some protective gear as well... I don't know about helmet laws in Texas, but please get one! Jacket, gloves, boots, over pants and rain gear are also wise purchases.

Well, if it's not in "Excellent" condition, you can get new body panels pretty cheap. I have heard (from others on MB) around $500-550 (plus or minus) for a whole set... you could change the color or mix and match.

If they have ALL documentation of professional maintenance / scheduled service & it's really in excellent condition I'd pay close to KBB retail otherwise consider the cost of changing out ALL fluids, filters, etc & other things you or your scooter shop have to do to make it worth kbb trade-in value. Also consider the value of a short warranty that a scooter shop gives when they sell used soots @ retail price.
