I bought a generic motorcycle cover at Wal-mart for $20. I wrapped a bungee cord around the headset to keep it in place when the wind blows. It has worked well for me for a year.

I bought a "Small Motorcycle Cover" from Amazon.
It was about $15. Has the heat protection around the bottom and a bungee hook that attaches to the opposite side under the floorboard to keep it on in the wind. It covers the scooter entirely, including the wheels, and doesn't have any particular name brand in big print on the side. It also has reinforced holes at the back and front (near the wheels) so that it can be locked to the scooter, and the scooter can be locked to something else without much difficulty.
I posted the link to the exact one somewhere when I ordered it... I don't remember where though- I think it was in an old scooter protection/theft prevention thread in october-november of last year.

Prima makes a good cover. Trouble is it says "Prima" on the side which defeats the purpose of hiding what is under from thieves, somewhat. Which is the primary function of a cover after weather imo.

I think a "good" cover is anything under or around $50 without a big name brand emblazoned across the side, an elastic bottom with openings for a lock, some space for a top case, and something that covers the entire scooter, tires and all. It can be a little big, too. Or a lot. As long as it has full coverage.

It's a good cover, and is lined. I just say "cover" the Prima logo if theft deterrence while out and about in high crime areas is your goal.

I use this for my Agility. It's thinner, not lined really, and crinkles. But it works and is bigger then the Prima. It would "drape" over Buddy in a Large size as it is sort of big for my Agility. My review is included in the reviews section, btw:

I went with this one and a bungee cord because it won't blow away in the wind. Better to get a slightly larger size and bungee than get a scooter cover and have $40. blow away which happened to me.

I don't like covers with the heat shield either, because once that heat resistant material wears down after a year of use, it then turns into a hazard. I had one ignite and it wasn't even sitting on the pipe in the middle of the winter. It turned into a ball of napalm and melted all the plastic off the back end of my scooter.

Do you have a garage for the winter ?

I don't and just use a big brown tarp and a bunch of bungee cords from Home Depot during snowstorms only. I think I had to use it twice all this winter.

I bought the SX appeal for the vespa lx150 and it fits great and has held up well over the last few years which I can't say that much for the other covers I have purchased for my other scooters.

I don't use a cover while out and about. I just put a plastic bag over the seat if I know it is going to rain during the day and I don't want a wet arse for the ride home.

At home, I use a CycleShell, and I absolutely love it.

It is expensive, $325 + shipping, but the guy is willing to wheel and deal over the price. And if you don't have a garage for storage for the winter, this is the best option around. Doesn't matter how much it snows, your scooter will stay dry in its cocoon.
