You know...

...

I actually like how it looks.

I have no idea if I'd actually get one over a scooter. It's a heck of a price point.

"would you rather make 3,000,000 nickles or 100,000 dimes"

That says it all. wow, 170 MPG.

I would love to see a 750cc sized motorcycle ( like the 83-85 650 nitehawk) with a single carb sold in the U.S. I'll bet it could get 75 MPG and do highway speeds, build it with a shaft drive so no chain and sprockets to buy. A super scoot!. I'd drive it :)
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?

440,000 cycles sold in the U.S. in 2011? Does this include scooters?

Pathetic tbh. No wonder we get crap selection here. And I wonder how many of those sales are to current owners of bikes? Does is matter? Well, new riders would be good. But oh well...

I saw this already on another site. Other than the plastics, it's yer basic bike, which, considering it's a Honda, ain't bad.

We don't get many bikes like that here because we don't buy bikes like that here. These people are buying basic transportation. Americans buy 2-wheelers for fun. The bulk of us, anyway.

If the manufacturers, particularly the Japanese, continue with their plans to build world bikes instead of different ones for different markets, this might possibly change. The new Honda 250 single is one such bike already.

Honda India is a fairly independent subsidiary that builds scooters and motorcycles in India strictly for the Indian market. They have produced many models that would cost less than $1000 if you go solely by exchange rate, but we know there's much more to cost than that. I don't think any of the models have been available in other countries.

Among my favorites was the Honda Eterno, a 150cc 4T shifting scooter that ran under $900 USD.

But, this is a country where, for various reasons, you can get a brand new economy car for $2K. The prices just aren't comparable with the US.
